Re: M3 Touring
Build delayed by a week...
Must
Be
Patient
In the meantime, have picked up roof rails, rubber mats, a boot liner for muddy dugs, a new bike rack, short number plates and a SUP rack. Need to get a waterproof seat liner now and I think I'm good to go.

Re: M3 Touring
Shame - probably not even run in yet.

Re: M3 Touring
According to someone in the thread, it was a case of cold wet roads, summer tyres, switched it to (dangerous) rwd only... and cherry on top, uninsured.

Re: M3 Touring
Sounds like it was a case of being a fucking idiot.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: M3 Touring
That too, but I usually try to avoid criticising people for binning their cars just in case I go and do it the next week!

Re: M3 Touring
Same, but I got to the uninsured bit and then was certain.

Re: M3 Touring
That's true. I learnt something from that thread actually, apparently in Switzerland it's not a legal requirement to have winter tyres but if you crash without them you may have insurance issues on account of not having the safest tyres available or something. Dunno whether that's the case with this guy though, or as you say, just an idiot chancing their arm. It would be truly mind boggling to buy an £80k+ car (or indeed £80k+ anything) and not have insurance coverage.Mito Man wrote: Tue Feb 14, 2023 10:45 amSame, but I got to the uninsured bit and then was certain.

Re: M3 Touring
I'm guessing this was the one that was crashed a while back (relatively speaking) - there was a pic of a black one by the side of a road with damage like that, must have been one of the first cars delivered.
Cheers,

Hmmm.. at least it wasn’t a technician “checking” the vehicle before delivery

Re: M3 Touring
Found it, it was the start of January. Straight road and too much gas whilst also trying to avoid some "wildlife".
Or was it 2WD-only, drift analyser on and one of those "watch this" moments?

Re: M3 Touring
Oooh, chalk marks. Maybe that's standard procedure there. At least most of the damage isn't M3T specific, would have been a bigger pita if he'd backed it in.Ascender wrote: Wed Feb 15, 2023 4:34 pm Found it, it was the start of January. It wouldn't surprise me if footage of the crash comes out after it's been repaired.

Unlike pretty much every company I work with on a day to day basis, BMW don't seem to be hanging around. The car shell was assembled yesterday morning and in the paint shop by the afternoon.

Just seen the new X5M starts at £129000! Crazy prices, but make the M3T look good value..

Re: M3 Touring
I see the new Civic Type R starts at 45K... Round about the time of the E46, I'm sure it was 20-ish with the M3 40-ish, so kind of double which is still the same today.IanF wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 12:16 pmAscender wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 9:48 am Unlike pretty much every company I work with on a day to day basis, BMW don't seem to be hanging around. Re: M3 Touring
Finally got hold of my dealer so will know the trade-in value of the M2 today @Matty.
Mine is now at the UK distribution centre where I think they fit the tracker before sending to the dealer. Looks like production is still a bit unpredictable in terms of specs and dates - they were expecting a few other Tourings before mine but looks like mine will be the first they see.
With all the talk of alloy wheels, I also settled on a set this week, but only because of a deal which popped up. They're from a BMW dealer, so are legit, but I kept waiting for a "due to a pricing mistake your order has been cancelled" email but they're apparently on their way. Plan will be to use the stock wheels on track and then put winter tyres on them. If I don't like the combo of the blue with these gold ones I will sell them and should be Abel to get my money back.

I'm now just wondering if they were a canceled customer order they had hanging around for a while and were wanting to get something back for them for month-end sales targets or something.
