Sadly, my current contract, despite being 100% WFH, for security reasons requires “home” to be in the UK.

It’d be lovely to have somewhere like that to escape to for a couple of months between contracts.
We’ve been raising the same questions. Security doesn’t seem to be the problem for us, it’s the tax situation.

I’m permie now, maybe that’s the difference.

What is the tax situation. I must admit I haven't read about them for a while but was conscisous that they were approved to commence last month. My uderstanding was that under a Digital Nomad Visa you can stay for up to 5-ears but you essentially pay income tax in your country of origin.

I don’t understand the ins and outs. The business looked into it and said the tax situation threw up too many questions and issues so they’ve canned it. I’ll look into the Digital Nomad Visa though, I hadn’t heard of it previously, could be a way around it.

So I thought the Model 3 was the first stupid car to have the instruments all in the centre of the car, until I stumbled across this atrocious bit of design.

I’ve seen it in the Toyotas I’ve sat in but they’re a bit better than the above. As in the Speedo is at least more towards the driver than smack in the middle.

I see your x-trail and raise you mk2 twingo, where Renault didn’t see fit to change the speedo position after converting from left to right hand drive. The windscreen wipers also go the wrong way still

Zoe is the same with the wipers. Smaller one in front of the driver.

The LH wipers are always a pet peeve, but that speedo takes things to a new level!

The E39 had the wipers the wrong way round too. It always seemed like a massive oversight. BMW usually do a much better job of designing stuff.

But the worst "meh, that'll do" I encountered was in the Mazda 6 we had. The little LCD for the OBD was designed to show l/100km for consumption. The text was fixed. Instead of making a new LCD that would show mpg, they blanked the "k" and changed the calculation so that it showed litres per 100 miles. Who the hell uses litres per mile ???? For the sake of a small LCD panel that can't be more than a few quid at the volumes involved.

There isn’t a small one as such, they wipe from right hand side towards the left

Zoe does the double: left to right, and smaller on the right.

I think all 'E' prefix BMWs do. I don't mind them, the worst wipers are the ones which go from the centre outwards like the i3 had. I know it's meant to be the best of both worlds but just looks shit.

My E30, E36, E46 & E53 all had RHD wipers.

Curious out of those is the E53, it’s basically a jacked up E39, for which they didn’t bother.

E30 centre console wasn’t handed which meant the handbrake handle was on the wrong side for rhd. E36 ones are handed.
