Also funny to see myself blathering about cheap broken Clubmans. I did it, and it's been running great

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I still love the 6GC - would have to be a 650 for me - but I don't think I can justify one anymore. Too big (on the outside) when we've laready got a large-ish car, and I barely do any miles. Hence I find myself looking at E24s instead

Would have to be a petrol for me too.
I doubt I’ll ever do it, we’re still thinking about downsizing and getting rid of the merc because it’s not very practical for the amount of space it takes up despite being lovely to drive.

Clubman's are undeniably cool cars. And surprisingly practical.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:21 am Also funny to see myself blathering about cheap broken Clubmans. I did it, and it's been running great![]()
I've seen a few 6 series this week, clearly the cool car to have at the moment. Or have they suddenly become cheap or something?
Cheers,
Mike.

Relatively, I guess, so go the whole hog and get an M6GC. They start around £25k:

That's a lot of car for the money. Design still looks very good too.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:14 pm Relatively, I guess, so go the whole hog and get an M6GC. They start around £25k:

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Many, many years ago Gavster & I tried to persuade our Dad that all of his motoring needs would be covered by having an M5 & a Transit (the van was needed for dogs & bikes).
Maybe I should follow my own advice, modify it slightly, and downsize to an M6GC & a Viano ??

I don't like the M6 GC. The kit spoils the beauty of the design. Besides, 440hp should be ample in a car that's over 2m wide and over 5m long
It always seemed like a very odd decision to "M" the 6GC to me.

For an M car, I'd have the M5 over the 6GC.
For a non-M car, I'd have a 640d GC over a 540d.

Only perverts buy diesel 6GCs.

There is no 540d, sadly.Rich B wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 2:42 pm For an M car, I'd have the M5 over the 6GC.

Ooh, the E24 I'd previously linked is back up for sale (the PH and disappeared for a few weeks so I assumed it was sold).

Does anyone want to buy our clubman?
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
F10 shape, yes - there’s no 540d at all in the G30 over here. Odd when I think the 535d sold very well; you see plenty on the roads.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 10:03 pmThe 535d has the same engine as the 640d / 740d doesn't it ? Stupid modern BMW model naming system![]()
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Hopefully going to look at a 640d tomorrow.

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Yay

More details.
I spent an hour or so obsessing over M6GCs last night. Not going to happen though.
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Funny, my current notepad is a F13 6 series and whenever I look at it I think it’s a nice design compared to the shite that followed. And what happened to getting a free notepad whenever you bought something from the parts department

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Don't know about note pads but when my M135i went in for a tiny rust blemish not long after I'd bought it they gave me a bag. I looked it up on their website and it was £110!Mito Man wrote: Sat Feb 04, 2023 8:51 pm Funny, my current notepad is a F13 6 series and whenever I look at it I think it’s a nice design compared to the shite that followed.
