Ah, that seems more like common sense. Still a trail of shame, but good/bad faith edits should be pretty self evident.

When it comes to editing posts, Slack has a nice feature that allows you to unsend a post within the first few seconds of posting it

It recalls/holds the post so that no one sees it until you make your changes

I tend to use this for the "Arse, I may a typo" changes - rather than having to edit the post - there's always the "I wonder if the recipient saw the edited/unedited version?" otherwise

Maybe Twitter could think about/research that kind of "unsend" feature - i.e. if most of the use cases are because "I quickly noticed an error and I want to change it", this would suffice

I agree that the posts themselves should be immutable though

IMO to be able to retrospectively change posts could just lead to all sorts of questions and re-writing of history when someone realises they've said something they shouldn't have

They do. Blue subs have an adjustable delayed send, up to 30 seconds I think it was.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

This is interesting. Worth noting that she has also locked her account.

From a quick skim-read that appears to have many hallmarks similar to the recent tea about Jack Monroe, even in the way Bleu talks on social media.

Are you a regular on tattle.life, Gavster? Or is tea a wider-used expression?

I'd never seen Tattle until I heard some gossip and began digging around... the users on there really go out of their way to drag people

As for the term 'tea' in reference to scandalous gossip, that's something I picked up from Jeffree Star around 2018, who was continually involved in total drama and therefore, always talking about the tea.

We're midway through developing a new feature/PoC with Twitter and I saw this news earlier

Somewhat changes things now we're going to have to pay for access (for what was going to be a free feature for our customers)

No, it's OK, they're turning off the free access on next Thursday, and they'll have more info for you next week.

I'm not even joking - that's the official communication.

Yup - normal companies run by adults give a little more warning than a week of a huge impactful change like this.

Also, I thought that the point of making Twitter profitable was to drive more eyeballs to it, not drive them away.

Can anyone do a quick tldr please, or is all just "lies, damn lies, and social media posts"?

Basically the report is that her claims of being sex trafficked don't add up to people who knew her, who reckon she was just being sexually open, and saw no evidence of pimps or people controlling her. Also, apparently she can't discuss who was trafficking her in case they kill her, but you'd think they'd kill her in case it came out at some point.

So quite a few people calling billy bullshit, but not many people wanting to publish the story because "Do yOu SupPorT cHiLd AbusErS oR SOmeThInG?" etc.

It does - the report that is - sound a bit speculative though; that, and it's possible to have been a scene girl/groupie, have been sexually open, and also to have been abused, so 'was trying to shag band members' doesn't automatically mean 'wasn't abused' etc; but the totality of her story seems heavily exaggerated at best, if accounts in the article are to be taken at face value.

Alsoshe has rather a lot of support from right wing grifters, and grifters don't tend to support people who aren't also grifters. Lay with dogs, get fleas and all that.

Honestly, it's not as long an article as it looks...

My thinking is that if someone comes out of nowhere and starts getting promoted by people who are famous for amplifying right wing conspiracy theories then take it with a tonne bag full of salt.

The theme of online liars/grifters is apolitical, it seems to be easy way to leverage left or right-wing support simply by claiming victimhood. We've seen it many times on social media, from people who claim to have cancer etc. They will exaggerate harms and injustices, or create fictitious experiences completely, to make their story sound stronger. As soon as someone critises they use the DARVO technique and deepen their victim position further, rather than really answering or addressing the criticism.

Yup, and when it comes out that they've been talking shite (even if there's a kernel of truth to it) it completely undermines any percieved progress made to their cause of choice.

Undermining the handling of CSO, which would be the case with this, to get online clout and make Musk look better... that'd be a 'big oof' if it's the case. Pretty fucking low stuff.

Totally, I just meant in this situation that you can't really trust anything that Elon backs as he has a long history of pushing crank conspiracies.
