Lucky Saint is quite nice if you want a refreshing lager although after a few it can taste like beer-flavoured water which I think is an issue with some of these.

I quite liked Brewdog (I know, I know..) alcohol free Punk IPA, I think it's called Punk AF. I see they now do 0% Hazy Jane so might try some of that.

Erdinger Alkoholfrei is very nice - it's a wheat beer, has a nice head, good volume and is one of the most beer-tasting alcohol free beers I've had. Apparently it's also loaded with vitamins so is a good recovery drink too!

Estrella and Moretti are good and seem to be available quite a few places now which is good if out for a meal and driving.

Heineken Blue tastes just as bad as normal Heineken.

I do like a citrus IPA but I had the exact same reaction to the Ghost Ship as you did.
All of this
Cheers,

Ian

Mmmmm, yummy artificial sweeteners  Not something I see as a treat really - in fact i find them quite rank. I was always a Pepsi (full fat please) fan but I think they water theirs down now with sweeteners so I had to switch allegaince to Coke whenever I want a soft drink treat.

That's a whole different topic. I probably average only one bottle/can of "pop" per week, so hardly a heavy user, but I find full-fat soft drinks too syrupy compared to diet/zero-cal options.

I used to like Coke Zero, but they changed the recipe. Now I think Pepsi Max is by far the nicest low calorie cola. If I'm going full fat, I'll have Coke though.

Yeah - my kids won't take coke zero now - only diet coke or Pepsi Max.

I probably only have a can of pop once every few months tbh. You must have got used to the thin stuff - I find hte opposite if I have anything with sweeteners in it - it just tastes a bit "wan" as we'd say around here. A bit thin and lacking in gusto. Even the less terrible sweeteners such as steviol seem to have the same lack.

Dragging it back to boozier climes though - I really like Fever Tree's Refreshingly Light versions of Tonic Water etc. It seems to have all the flavour and lack none of the body of the full sugar stuff, which is great for me as I rather like a rum tonic or Campari tonic, and when using full fat tonic that's basically just sugar on top of sugar.

Agreed, Fever Tree light is fine (although maybe because it's more calorific that some other light tonics).

Mine only drink blue Wkd. Wonder if they'll ever do a 0.0% version.

I'm a big fan of the Big Drop beers. They only brew alcohol free stuff and seem to cater well for someone like me who likes an IPA. Their Pine Trail Pale is really good, as is the Paradiso Citra.
I'm finding them in our local deli but also increasingly in Waitrose and pubs - https://shop.bigdropbrew.com/

Tried a few others, Lucky Saint is good and Peroni's 0% option is great as well. Not a huge fan of the Erdinger which was a bit sweet for me. My German friends tell me they market it as an energy drink like Lucozade in Germany!

I'm grouping very low alchol beers and 0% beers together here... I think Big Drop is 0.5% or something.

I had Heinken 0.0% in a can last night. Not nearly as nice as from a bottle, oddly. I wonder if it was too cold from our fridge?

Tried a Lucky Saint today. That’s really good, but it was reduced to £1.50 in Sainsbury’s for a 330ml bottle -doesn’t seem good value.
