New new new new Top Gear
Re: New new new new Top Gear
Anything that's actually based on a race engine is never going to be an easy engine to run on the road.Mito Man wrote: Mon Nov 14, 2022 3:56 pm I was surprised that it produced a little over 500bhp from the 1.6 and still needs a £700,000 rebuild after 30,000 miles despite being in such a low state of tune.
The new 2.0 4 banger in the upcoming C63 is putting out 480bhp before even being remapped and will probably easily do 150,000 miles before imploding…

Bit odd that there have been no updates about Flintoff after all this time?
Usually hear something after a week or so when these things happen, but there nothing anywhere about this.

McGuiness seems to be having a mental breakdown too, judging by the headlines I CBA reading further.

There’s been no posts on his own social media stuff either. Hopefully it’s not properly serious16vCento wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 2:46 pm Bit odd that there have been no updates about Flintoff after all this time?

If it’s about plastic surgery then he hasn’t had anything. He’s just playing about with Instagram filters. Some parts of the media seem to have run with it though.
Re: New new new new Top Gear
Think he’s responding to Barry’s comment about McGuinness
Re: New new new new Top Gear
Mcguiness has recently split with his wife. Probably having a bit of a shit time.

Re: New new new new Top Gear
Suggestions on social media this morning that Flintoff is going to take a break from TV shows after this latest incident... Sounds like his family are worried he's used up too may of his 9 lives already.
Cheers,
Mike.

I read on a gossip site a theory that his facial injuries had caused him to look different; as someone who has had mental health difficulties in the past, coming to terms with that while in the public eye could be really daunting. Seems quite plausible and fits with the description of his injuries (not sounding too bad from the reports at the time) and the subsequent lack of any updates.
Ironically it seems Paddy has been off to Turkey for a facelift and is reportedly disfigured too (though in a way he chose and paid for) - looking forward to seeing the results.

I think Paddy was using a filter on his Instagram when he was posting about getting work done. I've seen a few people think it was real so probably got quite a lot more followers/interest so a very clever stunt if he's getting anything out of it (don't think he can endorse anything working for the BBC)Jobbo wrote: Fri Jan 27, 2023 1:41 pm I read on a gossip site a theory that his facial injuries had caused him to look different; as someone who has had mental health difficulties in the past, coming to terms with that while in the public eye could be really daunting. That bit's irrelevant (I know you didn't say it, you quoted), an unintended facial alteration - no matter how small - would prove challenging to anyone when they look in the mirror. A programme with a theme of pish taking wouldn't be an ideal recovery environment.Jobbo wrote: Fri Jan 27, 2023 1:41 pm I read on a gossip site a theory that his facial injuries had caused him to look different; as someone who has had mental health difficulties in the past, coming to terms with that while in the public eye could be really daunting.
I hope whatever scars physical and mental heal fully and don't take long to do so.

There is more to that…it will come out eventually.Jobbo wrote: Fri Jan 27, 2023 1:41 pm I read on a gossip site a theory that his facial injuries had caused him to look different; as someone who has had mental health difficulties in the past, coming to terms with that while in the public eye could be really daunting. It’s odd that’s it’s been total radio silence, no details of what he was driving, no pictures, nothing from Chris or Paddy that I’ve seen. When you compare it to Richard Hammond accident something strange going on.
