De-ionised, or cold water from a boiled kettle seems to work well also. Many far fewer chalk deposits left 'pon the 'screen. If the idea is to keep clean, why use something that can leave muck?
Screenwash

Re: Screenwash
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a screen with limescale on it
Re: Screenwash
Maybe not, but I bet you've seen plenty with chalky watermarks

Re: Screenwash
We live in a very hard water area and never notice it on the windscreen.

It's that time of year when I have to remember to clean my headlights because they dropped down to the equivalent of a very poorly glow worm.
I didn't think I'd miss the headlight wipers on the 9-3 so much.

Re: Screenwash
The mito is annoying, the headlight washers squirt every time you wash the screen while the lights are on, other cars only do it once every few times, and have an override just to wash the lights if needed.
Seems to guzzle vast amounts of screen wash.

I haven’t, even when I lived in a chalkier area, but I’m appreciating the subsequent repliesnuttinnew wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 9:33 pm Maybe not, but I bet you've seen plenty with chalky watermarks![]()

Re: Screenwash
The solid red paint on the e30 used to water stain really badly with washer use in the summer. Using deionised water helped avoid it.

Re: Screenwash
Yeah, my screenwash froze
I obviously diluted it far too much (about 5:1) and this was the temperature as I left home this morning:

Re: Screenwash
Same
I blame the Skoda. The washer bottle is so ridiculously small that when I then went to fill the 330 (which has a surprisingly large bottle) I reckon I didn't adjust fully.
