why are you taking them off? Can you fit and balance the new ones yourself?Sundayjumper wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:27 pm The rears are a P-Zero runflat, I'm expecting a fight from that one, and a really shite "Autogrip" that will probably come off really easily and deny me the pleasure of cutting it up.
So that I can fit the winters. I kinda assumed that was obvious.
Yes. Pic #5 is one of the winter tyres after I fitted it.
Interesting thing here - from experience, I've found that if the wheel has been balanced before, and you leave the weights in place, it works fine with the new tyre. Now tbf, I've not tried it on the Porsche and then driven the Nurburgring ar 170mph, but on normal cars at normal speeds it's always worked out OK.
No pressure then!Jobbo wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 10:32 pmI enjoyed co-driving so I’m hoping after practising at Rushmoor we’ll be like a well-oiled machine.

At least you can get the tyre place to fit them for you, so long as you can get the 4 alloys in your car.Ascender wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 2:18 pm I've found some refurbished alloys on eBay for about £800, but with no tyres which then becomes a whole other thing...
There's so many sets on eBay it's unreal. Only thing stopping me is that I did buy something small from Germany with DHL 48 hour shipping nearly 10 days ago which still seems to be stuck in Germany!Jobbo wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 3:29 pmAt least you can get the tyre place to fit them for you, so long as you can get the 4 alloys in your car.Ascender wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 2:18 pm I've found some refurbished alloys on eBay for about £800, but with no tyres which then becomes a whole other thing...
Have a look at German eBay sellers for winter wheels; I've bought a few now and they arrive in better condition, better packaged and often quicker than a UK seller. And there are loads of used winter wheels with tyres for sale; might be a bit fewer at this time of year of course.
My dream euromillions garage has a proper tyre changing machine and balancer in it loik wot a proper tyre fitting place would have.Sundayjumper wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 8:55 pm I did the other two tyres today. I am now broken. The Autogrip was OK but the Pirelli runflat was an utter bastard as expected and I had to cut it off. My little tyre changing stand is just not up to the job with runflats. Lesson learned.
