Collected this Tudor Black Bay Chrono last night after ordering it when it was launched in April '21. I was beginning to think I'd never get it so called in at the Meadowhall Tudor boutique for a chat, not sure if this made a difference but a month or so later they contacted me to say one had just arrived in stock if I was still interested. I ordered it on the leather strap which is the bund style but then removed the bund to leave a standard leather strap.

Rubbish pic as I don't think the sun has risen for two days

That looks quite nicely understated and not shouty.

That’s a nice watch, John. I had no idea there was such a long wait for them.

Very difficult to get hold of and I'm not sure why, unless Tudor are holding them back for some reason. The salesman said this was only the second one on leather they'd had in the last twelve months. The chrono range all seem hard to find but especially the white version.

I was always a fan of the Hamilton "Murph" that was featured in the film Interstellar, but at 41mm it was too big for me, and too big for the "classic" look it was aping

However, Hamilton has just announced a new, 38mm version which is much more appropriate sizing for a watch that's trying to look old

And would suit my wrist much better

20mm lugs = strap monster too

Looks like a really good movement too with an 80 hour power reserve

List price is £820 I think, so not too steep...

Nice work @John

I do like a nice chronograph

Two sub-dials = nice, simple, clean look too

Hope you're enjoying it?

Hamilton watches are sometimes available online at TK Maxx so worth keeping an eye on the website, obviously this latest 38mm won't be there :)

It's actually Lewis Hamilton who's a bit upset. He sued Hamilton Watches (which was founded in 1892)for using his name.
PS: I'm not a Verstappen fan

@Pete_ CW Bel Canto all sold out on day 1 at £2995.

Always people ready to “help” in such circumstances 😁

I ain't paying that much! It was inevitable it was going to happen though.

I did an EOI on the CW website when they launched and recently got an email saying they are hoping to get info on new colour options out in the next few weeks and they hope to get one to everyone who wants one in the second half of 2023. I haven't paid a deposit yet though...

Moving on from my thread about theft - what value watch would you wear out around town or out out on a weekend?

I suppose it depends where you are going. I'd feel fine wearing anything going to the local or just generally knocking around at the weekend. I'd be more choosy when visiting a city with heaving pubs.
