Would it be problematic if you'd driven through a Road Closed - Flood* sign, were on one of the vids doing so, and the ins. co. saw it?

* Slight aside; iIrc, there have been instances of people removing/folding shut the Closed sign. We're all responsible for our own actions but I can imagine that caused some problems.

A pic with the Police blocking it doing the rounds should/could/might out people off going there in the first place. I doubt they're posted there 24/7 (unlike the poor sods when Dover TAP is on. Brock is back on now, into the New Year...).

I was wondering if the insurance company (especially if there's video evidence) would argue that the damage wasn't accidental but caused by driving without regard for the road conditions?

That would also nullify a very large proportion of any accident claims.

Missed that. Interesting question still.

I just did the simple thing and looked at my insurance policy. I can’t find anything specific about flooding the car but under the what is not covered section there is
“Deliberate damage caused by you or anyone insured on the policy”

There was a Rufford video where this idiot floods his car and then says “I just wrote off another one here recently” so hopefully he doesn’t get paid out a second time.

A woman I know drive her new 3’er through a ford (well, halfway through 😂) and completely knackered the engine. The insurance company told her where to go. Husband very displeased.

The fact she attempted it while there was a FFRR having its own issues in the middle sort of makes me think she pretty much deserved it.

But this goes back to my point. They're not deliberately damaging their cars, but they are deliberately driving them through the water and accidentally damaging them in the process.

I’d argue that the people going full throttle through it at 30 mph are deliberately damaging their cars.
I can understand the people who actually attempt to go slowly and then accidentally flood their cars, but the rest not so much.

Luke normally has some decent videos, but this one was pretty cool. Great looking roads, in a GT3 Touring. Probably a hard experience to top! The sound on this video is pretty nuts, but wish he'd opened it up a little more. I guess difficult on public roads. Worth a watch though.

One of Jonny Smith's car cave episodes with Mike Brewer.

I've always liked Wheeler Dealers and thought it actually got better when Ant Anstead took over, which seems at odds with our cat being called Edd China, but the recent ones have been absolute terrible. Mike Brewer seems to be becoming even more of a parody of himself since it came back to the UK but I didn't mind this episode at all. Came across as a proper car person and it's a nice collection of cars, albeit only a small number of what he owns from what he was hinting...

Next video is a sit down interview with Brewer. Not sure when it's coming but Jonny normally releases videos on a Sunday and Thursday if there's two in a week.

Cruising to the Max a documentary following Max Power cruises back around the year 2000. Looks like some nostalgia filled footage for those of us who had cars filled with subs and would hang around watching burnouts

Johnny Smith seems to bring out the best in people. I even managed to watch the entirety of his interviews with Schmeee...

His Podcast with Sniff is the highlight of my week.
