Maybe he doesn't want to pay the 30% because he can't even pay the staff properly.
By midday UK time, some staff members reported they were being paid with a payment reference atypical of how Twitter would usually pay their salaries—though one former employee estimated around 80 percent of workers had not been paid by around 1 pm UK time, based on conversations held in a Slack group containing former and current employees.

One former staff member shared a screenshot with Ars showing a payment had been made, then reversed, this morning. Another ex-Twitter employee said that “at least 20 people” had to make calls to their mortgage providers because of a lack of funds because their salary did not arrive in time.

As of 6 pm UK time, some staff in the UK still had not been paid, according to those with access to the group. Some received an email suggesting that receiving banks were undergoing anti-fraud checks.
How fucked does your payroll department have to be where the bank thinks the payments might be fraudulent?

But yeah, Twitter is working just fine

I’m still fairly sure that he’s just distracting people until he pulls whatever value he can out of the company before he fucks it off.

Just another in the recent line of shitheads doing something culturally significant by mistake

I do think people are more visible now.

One of my comments has nearly 3000 likes from yesterday, 80000 impressions, no paid for tick either. Maybe I am funny after all

Maybe they're just from bots and Musk was right about the % of 'users' who weren't real people? 😂

two great things about Musks 'vox populi' thing.

A: He has, as noted above, claimed that twitter is full of bots. So votes aren't necessarily representative of anything.
B: Vox populi as a phrase doesn't mean what people think it means.
Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
translated:
And those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God, since the riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness
Aka 'Don't listen to what people think, they're fucking idiots'.

Which is kinda apt for the Musk stans.

I'm pretty sure you can find any number of 4 word phrases and insert them into a longer one to change it's meaning to suit whatever agenda is being peddled by vox odio.

Tim, I am concerned that your Musk adulation and crypto purchasing may be evidence of irrational behaviour. Are you feeling OK?

I'm curious if certain kinds of colour blindness would be impacted, as in have the ability to tell the difference between the verification types. The old twitter would have thought of that, and made each icon different in design (not just colour) to account for this.

I suspect the team in charge of that have left the building.

Probably be OK with those choices to be fair. Possibly by luck more than design - to your point.
