Have you looked at used prices for Elise/Exige/Evora? (Which we’re all holding very strong even before todays silliness.

Yes you did. In an anonymous poll. As more than you have voted, nobody knows what your opinion is. Also, learn to spell.
Also, I suggest you look at the dictionary you refer me to for the correct spelling of the phrase you used. Hence my original point.

My Evora’s list price new was £65,900. I saved £20k buying it at 2yrs old, and I reckon it’s current value starts with a 4.Broccers wrote: Sun Nov 20, 2022 2:01 pmYes. Its absolutely true as the depreciation is a major factor.

That’s probably not better than an equivalent Porker, but it’s there or thereabouts non?

A 4.0 boxster/ Cayman for me is what I'd buy but I'm sure lotus are very enjoyable too

Noticed they'd bumped the "How long until the 20k Evora?" thread on PH....it's been 7 years and Evora prices are still pretty much the same as they were then.mik wrote: Sun Nov 20, 2022 2:27 pmMy Evora’s list price new was £65,900. That'll be the ones that were doing the dealer tour. I concur that they were a bit shoddy. They were however just mock ups. Didnt even have an engine in them. Battery and motor just to move it on and off the trailer.IanF wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:04 pm I sat in an Emira at Royal Artillery Company that had come directly from Goodwood FoS. Really wanted to like it, liked the looks, the cabin - much nicer place than I expected, plus it got the gf seal of approval but I wasn’t impressed with the panel fit and especially the weird rubber seal on the front where the bumper and non opening froot (cos it’s only there for aero) was standing proud of both panels.. apparently the customer ones will have a better finish, but it ruined it for me.

I made a couple of £k on my first Lotus, and I suspect I would make at least £1k on my current one if I sold it.* Lotus is a rock solid investment!

Bit strange to be trying to take orders with a poorly constructed mock up. Make an effort ffs!scotta wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 10:16 amThat'll be the ones that were doing the dealer tour. Yeah this was very much a mock-up. To be fair, that was made pretty clear on the day (although not necessarily overly clear when they sent the invites out…)IanF wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 11:02 amBit strange to be trying to take orders with a poorly constructed mock up. Re: Emira V6 vs Cayman GTS
This is bollocks, I remember thinking the exact same thing as you Ian and thought the car would only suit darker colours due to the black rubbers being so prominent. Lotus had 3 Emiras that I saw at Goodwood, there was a silver car on display (possibly didn't have an engine) and then a red car and a yellow car in the modern car hill climb area so they could go up and down the hill all day.IanF wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 11:02 amBit strange to be trying to take orders with a poorly constructed mock up. How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Emira V6 vs Cayman GTS
Edit - apparently there was a blue car at Goodwood but it was also running as seen in these pics here

So that also must have an engine.

The blue one posted by Mik definitely did not have an engine as I opened the rear clam. It was a wooden frame under there.Mito Man wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 11:22 am Edit - apparently there was a blue car at Goodwood but it was also running as seen in these pics here

Re: Emira V6 vs Cayman GTS
I'm saying if you've sat in an Emira that was ex-goodwood it's 99% production ready. They described it as only requiring software optimisations and further fine tuning. Not night and day stuff which will change the body panels etc.

Re: Emira V6 vs Cayman GTS
You might be right. Or it might only be 98%. Or 96.23% <shrugs>Mito Man wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:06 pm I'm saying if you've sat in an Emira that was ex-goodwood it's 99% production ready. If it was me, and I liked the looks, liked the cabin, and it got the other half's seal of approval, then knowing I hadn't seen a full production spec car - I'd probably want to wander along to a nearby stealership and look at a full production spec car : in order to dispel any initial concerns, or reaffirm early suspicions.

But @IanF is more than able to make his own mind up.
