Given this new evidence I’ve revised my opinion by downgrading to ‘get in the bin’

Re: The ebay thread
Still doesn't sound like much work to get it sorted. I guess the bids will determine if it's desirable or not!

I spat out my latte when I got to
"Genuine carbon fibre front splitter sets the front off, you see this in you're rear view mirror and you know it means business."
Weapons grade cunt.

Ish, but it's a seasonal advert as well;
you see the ad - "ooh!",
you read the ad - " aah

@Rich B you're probably (hopefully) right about easy fixes, not that you'd ever get that far when they've failed your seller test

It'd be a good car for i_e and SJ to make right had it been the right price.

Re: The ebay thread
For £4K it would have been tempting
Although I hate the two tone interior, I’d have to find some black to replace the beige bits.

I won't take you up on that. He probably wants £10k, reserve at £9995.

If you do that, I'll take the champagne bits and happily have your champagne seats off youintegrale_evo wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 3:18 pm For £4K it would have been tempting

Re: The ebay thread
If anyone wants a little track / autosolo* / targa* car this looks like it could be a bargain, the cage alone costs more than the bidding price right now, let alone fitting it, or the other parts, or the car itself.

* buying a used interior in order to meet regs will not cost very much

^ You only want someone to buy it so you don't

I like it, but I can't decide whether it's
a) a total bargain given the spec
or
b) endless pain trying to get the bloody thing to run properly

A bargain with the potential for tinkering? You're selling it to yourself

M parts tax is real. That will be a money pit.
I was just saying to my wife yesterday that a nice thing about tinkering with the MINIs is that parts are quite cheap. Hers pinged up last week wanting new front brake pads. I've ordered branded (Febi) discs & pads for just under £85 delivered. It's very nice after living with a Porsche.

Assuming its had all that work done that's listed in the ad... And drives ok... 22K seems like a bit of a bargain? How much more money would you have to sink in to that over the next couple of years?nuttinnew wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 7:12 pm While having a browse to see what may suit DaveE, a couple of cars that don't quite fit the bill but are a bit interesting are;
