No need to worry about twitterblue weakening the identity protection aspect of verification, Twitter will add another tag to accounts to verify the verification

Also, good to see that the checkmark system is working so well. I can't wait for Richochet 2 from this obviously real, premium account!

Some more quality.

"It's a-me, Mario. Go a-fuck yourself!"

(people are deliberately setting up 'blue tick' troll accounts for heavy advertisers with exploitable names, in case anyone hadn't worked it out)

They aren't lasting long though, so it's all a bit pointless. You never know Beany, your permaban might be lifted.

They're adding an 'edit tweet' button which is the no.1 thing everyone has wailed about since the dawn of time yet nobody seems happy about it 😂

Had added. I tried it last night. If you edit a tweet, the pre-edit stays along with any replies made to that. So it's possible to have two separate conversations on two versions of one tweet :)

You can't edit replies you've made.

The most useful feautre of blue so far I think is the adjustable are-you-sure-you-want-to-tweet-this timer which allows you to undo the send.

I'll grant you that second part is legit a good idea. Like Gmails 'undo send' button, where it doesn't actually send the message till that 'undo send' dialogue goes away.

I love that this fail fast agile car crash is playing out in real life to people that would never normally see it.

A comedy lack of programme/project mgt, testing and change control process.

In small outfits with uncomplicated systems it doesn't produce results that many see or feel.

However you get to the behmoth that is the Twitter and changing something that looks small without checking dependencies and fully testing it you get this kind of result.

This could also be a result of a lack of design docs (I've seen this happen too) too so the people coding these changes have no idea of how it all hangs together.

Why does Twitter insist on linking the tweet to which this is a reply, not just this tweet? Fucking rubbish website, fix that first Musk
