Its enough to drive you to the drink...

Post by Ascender »

... dropped the boy off to sit his driving test and am now sitting doing some work in a wee nearby cafe. This is the most stressed I've been in a hell of a long time.
Cheers,

Mike.

Your thread title also reminds me of an ex, whose family were upper-class old money types. On the day of her driving test, her mum recommended that drinking a miniature of vodka before going to the test centre, to take the edge off the nerves and relax. Apparently, it was a common practice amongst the family, and yes, she did pass first time

Fingers crossed! Doing it in your car rather than driving school?

... and he's passed!

No more constant taxi service and he can now pick my wife and I up from the pub as payback for our amazing tuition.

He was doing it in his own car which of course has been sounding rough this morning and took two goes to start which added to my stress. He's had a few lessons these past couple of weeks which have knocked off the rough edges so any recent drives have seen us having to comment on very little.

I love the idea of a vodka to take the edge off the nerves!
Cheers,

Mike.

Excellent! 8-)

I can confirm that there are few more satisfying situations than having your sprog pick you up from pub after one or three drinkies. 8-)

His girlfriend and him are both in Corsa club. Seems to be a very popular choice with the teenagers these days...

A few days of driving... "why do so many people not pay any attention when they're driving."
Cheers,
