Re: Today’s want
I’d actually been looking on and off for a couple of years, but had been looking more keenly for the last month or so when the mrs said she quite liked them / the idea of one (x5s in general)
Cheers, Harry

A very dejected-looking MINI with what I assume is a blown head gasket. It's grey & silver & slightly broken. Mmmmmmm.

Re: Today’s want
IIrc doing turbot bits is an engine out job (and it comes out with the gearbox), and the actuators aren't (or weren't) available on their own. The R50 has different turbots to the standard V10, so what would we guess a dealer has quoted to fix? £5-6k?

Re: Today’s want
It’s definitely not worth £18k
maybe £15k on a good day, the R50 is quite rare so it will command a bit of a premium, balanced by the tiny number of people that actually want one, so it would take a while to shift at that level.
If their “mechanic” has told them it needs new turbos (an engine-out job and the V10 is a *BIG* engine to take out) that’s a few grand and they’d need to sell for £15k+ to make it worthwhile. Bear in mind my Cayenne was cheap because a “mechanic” told them it needed a new cam chain when really it was just that the timing was slightly off. The V10 turbos get gummed up and the actuators can’t move the vanes, giving an actuator error. Fill the turbos with Mr Muscle oven cleaner and there’s a good chance it’ll free them off.
But 10k is not something I have lying around just now unfortunately.

That's a really nice colour/spec combo, looks good and has nice wheels, plus the double sunroof/cruise control etc.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:52 am A very dejected-looking MINI with what I assume is a blown head gasket. It's grey & silver & slightly broken. Mmmmmmm.

Re: Today’s want
Is the R50 mechanically different from the pre facelift V10 Touareg?
I'd rather have it without the chrome goatee.

Re: Today’s want
I want to say "no" but I have a nagging doubt. I think the R50 is just a power tweak & the body kit / wheels. The chrome was standard across the range for the facelift; I'm sure it could be repainted.ZedLeg wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 12:37 pm Is the R50 mechanically different from the pre facelift V10 Touareg?

I've always had a thing for the Infiniti FX50/QX70 so I keep finding myself looking at this

Cheapest I've ever seen a Vettel and not far off what many of the std V8s seem to go for at the moment

it's an utter mess of design, but I still don't hate it.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 10:21 pm I've always had a thing for the Infiniti FX50/QX70 so I keep finding myself looking at this

There’s a Lancia Hyena for sale - article on PH: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spo ... sale/46471
No idea of the price but it’ll be a lot. Much want though; always loved the shape of these and they’re incredibly rare.

That's really lovely and a car I never knew existed. It'll obviously be entirely unfit for me, but it looks very special.

My Scottish weekend has made me fall in love with the F-type V6's exhaust note.

They are starting to dip towards the £20k mark.

They were £100k mark before Integales started appreciating so who knows ?
I saw one at Lancia show in the 90's and was blown away, they are tiny.
Cool cars

Re: Today’s want
I think they’re starting to look better with age, and black suits them well, helps the body colour headlight internals blend in better.
There were a couple about when I was doing lancia things, never struck me as worth the massive price hike over a decent integrale with none of the practicality. A lot of the appeal of the delta for me was that it was a pretty sensible and practical 5 door hatch which looked bonkers and went like stink. The hyena doesn’t even have an opening boot
The photos in the article are flattering too, the front overhang is huge and throws out the proportions of the rest of it.

Re: Today’s want
No, Integrale based but being Zagato and from a similar era it does share some styling cues.

Re: Today’s want
I don't like that in the slightest. A waste of a good Integrale.
