We watched Bullet Train and really enjoyed it. Its complete nonsense and has a few too many Guy Ritchie-inspired bits of dialogue, but its fun nonsense. Really don't understand the snooty reviews its been getting.
Cheers,

Mike.

Elivis incredibly long but worth noting the lead actor actually sang all the songs in it. Worthy of a watch when you have the time :D

Terrifying that Google was able to provide a picture of Queen Elizabeth and Elvis morphed together on a quick search...

Really enjoyed it

Even if you don't really know them, if you like music, I'd recommend it

They've been around for so long, done so much, have such huge influence on other musicians etc

Really really good
ive never even heard of the Sparks, but I'm interested anyway because I see it's been done by Edgar Wright - who I am very much a fan of.
I went back to look at Mik and Barry's dinosaur musings and noticed this, the sparks

I planned to see this on the big screen when it was released, but shizzle thwarted said plan. Stumbled across it on Film4 last night, but I missed the start and then realised it didn’t finish til 01:55 - bit much for a school night. :?

However - it is available to watch at your leisure we on All4 for the next month…. 8-)
Watched. Very strong Squid Game vibes. T’was excellente.

8.5 subtitles out of 10. :geek:

18 1/2- Odd one this. Story about a Government transcriber who gets handed a tape that accidentally contains 18 1/2 minutes of Watergate recordings, thought to be deleted.

It has a lot of Wes Anderson vibes but ultimately missed the mark I think. It would probably play better as a stage play. Bizarre ending too

5 out of 10

Many Saints of Newark

Lots been written about this here. No need to say more. It’s very good, whether you’ve watched the Sopranos

8 out of 10

Edit - forgot one

Mr Harrigan's Phone - in Netflix

Stephen King story with Donald Sutherland and the kid who plays Bill in IT. It was OK but not brilliant - it played like a "long Twilight Zone" or TV Movie rather than a full feature film, a little too much exposition and not enough of the main theme and it seems to be trying to give a few too many messages. Interesting but not brilliant.

Extraction

Chris Hemsworth plays a young buff John Wick, killing it must be at least 100 serving Bangladeshi Policemen while escaping Dhaka in order to rescue the son of an Indian Drug Lord. Why oh why did I think this would be worth a watch.

2 out of 10 and that's been generous

Polar

Mads Mikkelsen plays an old, greying John Wick, killing at least 50 henchmen while escaping a torture chamber in order to rescue his innocent next door neighbor.

This one is a missed opportunity - I fell victim to the premise. Aging Assassin for a shady syndicate, drawn in for one last job, double crossed and going after the double crossers. I fell victim to the star - Mads Mikkelsen does good films... Right???

But then Matt Lucas arrived in a Yellow Suit as the Cartoon leader of the syndicate.. No seriously...

Image

Then it just descended into farce - ludicrous killing sequences with the "Dream Team" of assassins, hugely unnecessary sex scenes (no-one wants, nor needs to see that  ) Laughable to be honest.

Nice little twist at the end but misses the mark by miles. Which is a shame because if the Shadowy Syndicate were more modern and "normal" and not cartoony, there's a decent story here but no, completely misses the point

2 totally unnecessary views of Mads Mikkelsen's arse out of 10.

Aye Polar was a disappointment, I can't remember the sex scenes though so I'll have to watch it again

Watched Sonic 2 the other night and I don't know if it was just inflated expectations after being surprised by the first one but it was a bit shite. Too much Jim Carrey gurning around. Idris Elba is good as knuckles the grumpy echidna though.
