Thanks for the inspiration, I'll look for those next time I get a massive crisp craving. The people who create flavourings for crisps are genii at addictive flavours!

Aye, those guys are good. Spiciest crisps I've found for a while.
An absolute unit
Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
The jalapeño and cheese flavour Walkers Max are really tasty too. Not madly hot but with a nice tang.
Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
I haven't seen them in ages so I bought a box of Amazon yesterday...

Went for these, they’re tasty but only a minor upgrade from regular prawn cocktail.

My missus picked some field mushrooms last week (not a euphemism) so I decided to make some cream of mushroom soup. It was fucking horrible and the house now stinks of boiled mushrooms.
Thanks for the crisp tips, might take the taste away

Go for the Mik ones and remember, a 140g bag is a single adult portion

Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
The wife and I demolished some of the jalapeno and hot blaze ones the other night with a selection of dips.
She went for red pepper humous and I went old school with a 4 dip combo (thou island, cheese/chive, etc). 'twas great!!

My wife cooked a cheesy broccoli soup in the slow cooker this week but the house stank of candy floss come tea time. She'd put a tin of condensed milk in instead of evaporated milk !speedingfine wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 6:51 am My missus picked some field mushrooms last week (not a euphemism) so I decided to make some cream of mushroom soup. Boaster
Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
The US Cheetos are now available in the UK as Crunchy Wotsits; shake they don’t do all the flavours but it’s a start. So good.
Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
Wasn’t sure where to put this - we harvested the first 10% of Mrs mik’s garden potato crop tonight (these were Jazzy Baby Potatoes, but there are some Golden Wonders in there too) and scoffed them as part of dinner.
Feckin delicious
(including the 2.83x home grown smugness related taste multiplier).
Feckin delicious

Sounds great, homegrown potatoes are elite, in fact I think potatoes, in general, are totally underrated.
Re: Lockdown cookery thread.
I brought a pack of proper US Cheetos back and have been gradually eating them. Great flavour (Flamin' Hot) but you probably need to wear gloves to eat them because they properly stain your fingers

Speaking of online cooking stuff, I like Nats What I Reckon. Aussie bogan who started doing cooking stuff over lockdown, and just wants you to look after yourself, and not use jar sauce (because fuck jar sauce).
"...normally to do this we'd use a potato ricer, and I seem to have lost mine; but that's OK, we work with what we've got, champions, and what we've got is...mental health problems"
(he's a strong and consistent advocate for better mental health for all)
Typically his methodology is "if you don't like chilli...then don't put it in. I like chilli, so I'm putting it in. Don't worry, it'll still taste fucking great, you've got this mate"
Also his partner works behind the camera and she can regularly be heard loudly corpsing at his antics, and it's adorable.
