It's quite impressive that she's so bad it makes Boris look OK!
Re: Bye Bye Liz...
We might have! I suspect a Corbyn government would have been worse economically, although without as much of the scandal and sleaze. I doubt a Starmer government could do worse though, will be interesting to see if they can keep policy relatively centrist in the run up to the election.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 3:26 pmShort memories and all that.Ascender wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 2:53 pm I can't believe I'm trying this, but could Labour be any worse? I mean, literally, how could they objectively be any worse than what the government have done over the last few years or what some of their individuals in the part and cabinet have done during that time?
I had to laugh this morning at Gordon Brown tweeting about the ideology behind the Truss/Kwarteng economics - the very same man that presided over widespread deregulation that played its part in the 2008 crash. A man that only introduced the 50p rate as a last-miute fvck-you hurrah to the likely incoming Tory/coalition Gov't.
But in truth, we don't know. Because we haven't really had a proper Labour Gov't since the late '70s.![]()

Its definitely interesting seeing ex-politicians and their cohorts giving their view of what's going on these days. I've even found myself agreeing with a lot of Alastair Cambell's tweets/observations which is something I never thought I'd say.

Its a bit niche, but are we seeing the end of Nicola Sturgeon up here? Surely she's now passed that point where she's becoming a liability to her parties aims?

One thing we dont have here in the uk is faith behind people and helping them achieve their well intentioned goals. I mean give them a little bit of a chance - maybe more than a month.
Unfortunately its all about clicks and fear from the msm - there's nothing positive ever.
Guaranteed after a switch to Labour they will be ripped apart very quickly too.
Re: Bye Bye Liz...
What well intentioned goals are they broccers?
Was it giving tax breaks to their pals or sending refugees to an internment camp in Africa?

I don't think so, looking at the discourse on twitter the people who liked her still like her and the scottish tories are crying their eyes outAscender wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:03 am Its a bit niche, but are we seeing the end of Nicola Sturgeon up here? Exactly the type of comment I was describing!
Re: Bye Bye Liz...
Do you think they'll kill the pound, have to be bailed out by the Bank of England and make two major policy U-turns in the first 2 weeks? I suspect we'll get to find out, but I don't see how they could be worse

Imagine the level of fuck ups they will manage in the second month!!!

I can’t see labour talking about blood and soil pregnancy tax breaks or making cannabis a class a drug either tbh.

Just wait until the Tories tax crypto; Broccers will have to review his (now thoroughly niche minority) support for them then.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 12:44 pm I can’t see labour talking about blood and soil pregnancy tax breaks or making cannabis a class a drug either tbh.

Part of the problem with Twitter is that it doesn't seem to take much to sway their alrogithm one way or the other on an issue meaning you can end up with a very single-sided view of something like this. So its interesting you've seen that. I guess its business as usual then!ZedLeg wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:55 amI don't think so, looking at the discourse on twitter the people who liked her still like her and the scottish tories are crying their eyes outAscender wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:03 am Its a bit niche, but are we seeing the end of Nicola Sturgeon up here?
