Car Plans. What's Next?
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Can wait for the facelift, the Z4 has been out for years, the LCI must be close?
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Its a social media leak so presumably announced very soon, seems like a new grill and intakes which is slightly more changes than the 8 series lci got.Mito Man wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 2:47 pm Can wait for the facelift, the Z4 has been out for years, the LCI must be close?
The current car has only 340bhp whereas the 240i has 375, hopefully that will also be boosted in the lci.
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
That purple is fabulous. A colleague has an orange 2-series coupe and I thought she'd want a new 2-coupe in orange as well, but she spotted one in purple at a dealer and adores it.
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I really liked the purple when I first saw it at Goodwood on the new 240i 2 years ago, forgot all about it as I haven't seen one since sadly. I remember the chap on the BMW stand saying it's getting a mixed reaction which I presumed he meant was mostly bad. But most people are boring eh

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I just had a little play with a '22 Z4 M40i - I was behind him for a TLGP straight onto a big 270° roundabout, onto a dual carriageway. Cue lots of clumsy sideways moments when changing gears and lots of fun.
He got off the line well ("auto" box), then I closed in a little on the roundabout, then the c.50-120ish units it was pretty even to be fair. I backed off and he did the same and thumbs up we're exchanged.
Good clean irresponsible fun.

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I had a couple of loaner Z4s when they first came out and they were really good fun. A step-up in pretty much every way over the non-M Z3s.
Thunder Night (makes me think of Thunder Muscle drink or Thunder Buddies, both not great references) is a nice colour and is on the list. Along with about 8 other purple colours BMW do which in the visualiser look almost identical..

Im very tempted, despite BMW not even trying to update the car significantly, The colour irl is much better than the pics would suggest (seen it on 2 series coupe and a 3 series estate).

My GF's aunt has a 240i in that purple. Stunning colour.

Maybe a nice alternative to a Boxster (not as good dynamically, but maybe better overall value/everyday proposition)
Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Saw this and thought of you. No idea if this is a 105 (?)

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Remember when those "Z" variants (were they all Zs??) came out in the bright, lary colours? Was that the last hurrah for Rover proper?

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
The mg versions were all Zs
Zr - rover 200
Zs - rover 400
Zt - rover 75
Followed by the power (in PS) so zr 105 had the 1.4 16v k-series, 120 the standard 1.8, 160 the 1.8 vvc. I can’t remember what the v6 versions had? I want to say 190 and the v8 zt was a 260?
They carried on for a while, after another facelift with better looking bumpers and more modern looking faired in headlights over the silver one above.

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
V6 was available in both 160 and 190 forms, and 180 for the auto. The later 160 v6 was dropped and replaced by a 1.8T K series also with 160.integrale_evo wrote: Sun Oct 02, 2022 12:19 pm The mg versions were all Zs

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
Does look very tidy that and looking at the twitter thread he's not after a lot for it either (Also HG done is a good bonus). My boy wants a BRG one and it's a bit too soon as well to go for it. Realistically next summer is a good time to start the hunt in earnest.
The eldest has another test booked (Sunderland in January) which hopefully we'll be able to change and get a local cancellation in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed and then we can get the Corsa off our drive and books (we're paying insurance and rent on it currently).

Was in again yesterday doing the finance and they had a lovely Z4 in... Not sure about the shiny black rollover things though.

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
As much as I want a V8 75, I would also take a V8 Zt in that multi flip paint they offered.integrale_evo wrote: Sun Oct 02, 2022 12:19 pm The mg versions were all Zs

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I would have a gold, facelift 75 v8, leave it looking standard, maybe even hide the exhaust tips, but tune the engine to a point where it’s actually worth having a big v8, ie 500+ bhp

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
I totally forgot they did that flip paint. Which my friend had on his brand new Tuscan - knowing TVR they probably bought any leftover stock from Rover.

Re: Car Plans. What's Next?
ZT260 was always attractive, but it needed at least another 90bhp. It’s always been one of these “could have been awesome” cars for me.integrale_evo wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 11:21 am I would have a gold, facelift 75 v8, leave it looking standard, maybe even hide the exhaust tips, but tune the engine to a point where it’s actually worth having a big v8, ie 500+ bhp![]()
The v6 was a ZT190 or a ZS180 - the smaller car struggling with exhaust routing from memory….?
