New M2?
New M2?
I was a little hasty in judging the M4 (which has definitely grown on me) but I have to say - this rear ended is an absolute shocker!
I'll await the official reveal before making my actual opinions, but so far - not great!
This rendering looks ok though, so there is hope:

I hope that rear bumper is still in disguise.
Re: New M2?
Adds to the list of BMWs I hated at first, but slowly grew on me and I ended up buying half of them.
Re: New M2?
I saw that all over Twatter and genuinely thought it was some horrendous Barry-Boy* halfords special.

Re: New M2?
The proportions in the last pic look great but I’m not sold on the grille. At least it’s not been beavered though.
The rear: no words.

Re: New M2?
Oh my god that looks hilariously bad.
Re: New M2?
I don't think trabant blue is helping it but I cannot say the 2 series latest efforts have appealed, there is a 4 door droopy saloon that is also particularly ugly.
Re: New M2?
I think the rear photo above is as a result of a particularly unflattering combo of angle and colour.
Albeit a render, I think the rear looks pretty good here.
I’m guessing they’ve gone for the vertical reflectors to try and visually widen it, as I’m sure I read somewhere that the body itself is the same as the standard 2 series coupe.
I prefer the front of the standard car to those square intakes.

Re: New M2?
The rear is quite different in the render though. Different reflectors and lines around it.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: New M2?
The new ones I've seen (non-M2 obviously) look a mess from the rear. Lights are too small and look cheap. The whole thing lacks substance.

well that's a little more hope, though no wide arches would be a hard no from me.Maurice wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 6:36 pm I think the rear photo above is as a result of a particularly unflattering combo of angle and colour.

Nope, no better from this angle...
They should have got that russian site to design it! It's basically the same, but just slightly different.

Re: New M2?
No sign of that cool front arch vent...
Re: New M2?
It’s got more rake on its arse and greater ride height than most of the smaller X models
Good departure angle for speed bumps I guess.

Re: New M2?
Shame as it’s probably the last rwd, manual ice bmw. Hopefully they are giving themselves room for improvement when the csl is released.
Re: New M2?
There is talk of a 2wd manual M240i.

Re: New M2?
They’ve pumped up the standard 2-series coupe to make it look like a successor to the M2, but it hasn’t left them anywhere to go visually. Shame.
Re: New M2?
That's really unfortunate. The whole thing gives the impression of a car restyled to avoid having to pay a license fee for an advert.
