Ideally, I'd like a go in the BTCC 155 as that's the car that ignited my petrolheadery
The 155 would be my choice but in dtm v6 spec with ridiculous exhausts. But I didn’t state it for fear incurring the wrath of mik
Sheesh its hardly my fault if Matt insists on 3-day bans guys.
Matt isn’t the one who makes the polls. I imagine Matt just complies otherwise you’ll insist he gets a ban

It's a tough one - I'd favour no.5 or 6 for the sake of ragging something around I'd stand a slight chance of keeping hold of and just enjoying all that fighting with the car.

But if it's just once you have to take the chance of scaring yourself to death in Group C. Hey even if you died doing it, you went out doing the best thing ever. I'd wanna say Porsche 956, but I think I'd wanna hear screaming engines and I'd be unlikely to be able to drive any of them very well. So the Jag or a 787B? Possibly the C9.

[Watching more of Goodwood today, I was aching to be piloting a Lotus Cortina as they understeer, oversteer, understeer, womblingsteer, lock a single wheel under braking through a bend. Such a fight to extract the potential. And then an Alfa GTA danced through showing such adjustability. <chef’s kisss>.

And then once I had finally decided…. I thought about a C9 again.

Controversial opinion, the 787 orange actually sound very nice, it’s just LOUD!!!

It also wasn’t that quick, it won (once) because it was reliable.

Still a glorious looking thing though 😁

Then it’s Group C - similar to above but a tiny bit more tame.
I did a few virtual laps of Le Mans La Sarthe last night. Usually the XJR9 would be my GroupC weapon of choice, but I discovered last week that Project Cars 2 (somewhat bizarrely) has the boost set at 50% for the Sauber C9 as a default. Turning it up to 100% means it guzzles fuel somewhat (you are unlikely to complete a 9th lap if you start with a full tank), but the performance increase is rather significant... instead of kissing 200mph along the Mulsanne you pull 218mph in free air. I saw 234mph with a tow from one of the Porsches.

The great news is that it isn't really any trickier to drive on full boost. 8-) Obviously you need to be circumspect with the throttle - particularly in the lower ratios - but then you did with 50% boost anyway. As noted previously- with the huge (ground effect) downforce - braking from VMax is very tricky when you first drive it, as you can initially brake hard, but need to continuously roll off the pedal to avoid locking up as you wipe off speed & therefore downforce. At low speeds the Sauber (more than the other GrpC cars) is very reluctant to turn in.

Despite a handful of mistakes, I pulled 20seconds on the rest of the field in a 5-lap race (with opponents set to 100% skill level)....

I was going to go for 60s F1 cars, Lotus 49s et al as I love that era.

Then I considered that crashes in those cars, especially at Spa, are normally fatal. So I opted for V10s, because they're carbon tubs and people usually seem to walk away from crashing those.
