Based on minimal research and being swayed by the snappy naming I've opted for a Siemens TE651209GB. (and Argos promise same day delivery).

Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
New coffee machine incoming. My trusty DeLonghi has become incontinent from several places
It served extremely well though, I bought it s/h way back in 2017 and apart from when I've been on holiday I think it's been used every day since. On that basis I have justified myself a brand-new machine

Tassimo - I’m on my second (my first got damaged in the car because I took it on holiday)
It’s cheap, quick and I’ve found a few pods I like. Yeah, it’s not the last word in coffee perfection but it does the job.
I have beans and a cafetière for weekend treats

Re: Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
Just back from a week in France and the house we'd rented had a full-size, built in NEFF been to cup machine
It was actually really lovely to have - we all drank so much coffee that week!
It was a pain having to empty the drip tray seemingly every other cup
But for home I can't justify the cost or space (I have an Apollo 11 size, ten cup Moka pot - I'll brew every other day and keep the brewed coffee in a glass bottle in the fridge)
I'm quite taken with a friend's Sage espresso machine though...

I have a re-filable pod for mine so I can get decent coffee grounds in it.dinny_g wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 6:27 pm Tassimo - I’m on my second (my first got damaged in the car because I took it on holiday)

I had to buy another small coffee machine the other day too - these don’t last that long.

Re: Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
I had a few Nespresso models for most of my life which were pretty average, then I watched some James Hoffmann stuff on YouTube 2 years ago and thought I’d try and up my game. Bought a Sage Barista and found it so much work that it put me off coffee - 6+ minutes of work and cleaning for 1 cup which tasted 10% better so I returned it a few months later. And that was after 40 cups of fine tuning the settings and trying different beans…
Got a hand me down Jura J7 after that and it’s really good 90% of the time but the rest of the time it asks for something to be serviced and parts prices are a bit silly. And if you don’t service then it just won’t work.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
I have a little delonghi machine and an Aeropress.
The machine hasn’t had much use since I bought the aeropress tbh. Still handy for lattes and that though.

An absolute unit

I’m desperately hoping they use the same brand of machine in the Navy. You can see where I’m going with this.

Re: Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
I recycle every one. NEVER binned a single pod
There used to be a guy in MK who would take as many as you have but Tassimo have recently stopped this
I now recycle with Tassino’s own service.
I have ordered a refillable one. We’ll see how I get on

True story - at the supermarket one time, queuing up at the checkout, the bloke in front of me dropped a jar of instant coffee which smashed and went all over the floor. I didn't say anything.
23 minutes later, on my way home, I realised I should have said "Ah ! So I guess that's GROUND coffee now !"
Re: Your Coffee Machine Running Reports
You should have slapped yourself for not coming out with that at the time.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:27 pmTrue story - at the supermarket one time, queuing up at the checkout, the bloke in front of me dropped a jar of instant coffee which smashed and went all over the floor. And then slapped yourself for such an awful, awful, joke.
