It’s been a while since there’s been a really good big budget natural disaster movies. It’s a shame as the genre is one of my favourites.

Mine too - although any disaster movie will do - natural disaster or not.

I prefer the "Normal people trying to survive" sub genre, rather than the "Gung Ho hero's flying off into space to re-start the sun" types. and these are quite often in the rubbish category

Bird Box is alright, like most of those Netflix movies it’s not going to blow your mind but it’s watchable.

The Gentlemen - interesting plotline, enjoyed the way the storyline weaved in and out with plenty of twists and turns. Half the cast was good, the other half lacked a sense of dynamism. Really do love almost everything that Matthew McConnaughey does, even though he didn't feel like the perfect casting for this role. Hugh Grant was an odd one too. Six and half frozen Russians out of ten.

I enjoyed The Gentleman, but I was totally unconvinced by Hugh Grant. Terrible for that role IMHO.

I though The Gentlemen was excellent. Don't agree with your assessment of Hugh Grant though. I liked him in that role. I though it pulled it off. Greasy horrible fleet street prick

It was absolutely an enjoyable film which really kept my attention for two hours, which is a feat in itself.

Grant overplayed that role and veered into pretend gangster, which was probably the point of his role, however that didn't land with me.

I really liked The Gentlemen, didn't understand a lot of the criticism it got. I mean, I know its Guy Ritchie doing what Guy Ritchie does, but its definitely one of his better ones, albeit nowhere near the levels of Snatch. Hugh Grant was hamming it up and having a great time - I enjoyed him in that as its so different from the roles he normally plays and thought it fitted-in with the tone of the movie, but I also totally get how it would just annoy some people.

Watched Jordan Peele's Nope which has also had some really mixed reviews and I loved it. I enjoyed it even more the second time round as you pick up on all the little hints along the way of what's going on and what things mean.

Murder at Yellowstone City = a Sky Original.

I do love a good western... However, this is NOT a good western at all. Had most of the required ingredient - Good cast (Gabriel Byrne, Richard Dryfuss) , good location and sets, plenty of money spent on it but a disastrously bad script buggered everything...

- An innocent stranger is wrongfully accused of murder - OK, Let's kill several townsfolk - who we know who are only in the posse due to being press-ganged by the sherif - to protect this stranger
- Let's hint at a back story to the Stranger and the Preacher but never reveal them
- Let's shoehorn in an entirely unnecessary Gay thread for 1 scene only which has Zero bearing on the overall story... you know, for inclusion

Watched it again last night. My opinion hasn’t changed. But I’ll give it 12 brilliant things out of 10 this time
