I'd probably stop short of calling it rain but it was definitely a prolonged, pretty heavy shower we've just had :o 8-)

The last supermoon of the year is on the up, looking good 8-)
Perseid meteor shower starts also but views will be hampered by the moon :(
Pollution levels are on the up atm. I don't know if that's because of or as well as the heat (Amber warning: Extreme heat!), either way I've been wheezy

I could smell quite a bit of smoke so just went for a walk around outside - there must be a field on fire somewhere nearby although I couldn’t find it - incredible amount of crap suspended in the air

The fresh, clean air of the countryside
Bonus points for getting the moon in shot though.
There's probably been a fire somewhere, it seems like there's at least one a day atm :(
We're officially in drought now as well;

I’m firmly a believer of the phrase as the day starts so it will end. This morning I started my journey by being stuck behind a septic lorry which stank of shit.

12 hours later….

I just drove into London tonight and I guess the rain must have hit hard. Really hard.
Driving back to the flat and I see a river of shit around Wellington arch. Well I only realise that it’s a river of shit as I’m bombing through it at 30 mph and I get a whiff of it. The 6 series is covered in shit. A poor bastard from Thames water is doing his best to vacuum the poop smoothie further up the road but it’s like sucking up water from a swimming pool with a straw.

I arrive at my underground carpark and there’s a sea of shit. An actual 1 inch plus of poop and toilet paper across the whole car park. I’m wearing my suede Piloti shoes which offer a 1/2 inch of waterproofing at best so I spend 10 minutes looking at all the empty spaces and gauging the poop depth by seeing how far up the car tyres it is.
The new carbon activated cabin filter isn’t doing much to mask the smell. The smell is ripe. It’s not like ordinary shit, it’s like shit which has been cooked and concentrated.

Eventually I find a suitable space and park up, carry my dog as I can’t have him getting covered in shit.
Close the car door. FUCK. My hand gets wet from the door. Shit.
I start the most cautious walk to the elevator ever, trying my best to minimise splashing. I walk past a few cars which have been utterly ruined. Shit leaking on them from the pipes above.
Eventually I arrive at terra firma. The slightly raised concrete pad for the hallway of the elevator entrance is suddenly my island of respite. I enter the hallway and it’s like one of those murder scenes with bloody footprints covering a room. Except it’s brown instead. And the smell is even more concentrated.
Get up to my flat, remove shoes outside the door. Step in, put dog down, go to wash hands and there’s no water apart from a few drips. FUCK.
So I then melt ice from the freezer to wash my hands so that I’m at least clean.
I guess this weekend I’m just going to burn my car. No idea how the fuck I’m going to walk the dog tomorrow.

It was already close to midnight, to drive back and then take the train up in the morning would have been quite exhausting. Also I really don’t want my floor mat covered in shitty footprints so I’m not getting back in the car until it’s dried out.
I’ve ended up just carrying the dog down the stairs and out the building to the ground floor for his walk (the stairs don’t go down to the carpark underground so it was cleaner).
Water did come back on at 8am so I could finally drink something rather than sucking on ice cubes 😂

Massive downpour here on Tuesday evening causing flooding. The main road through the village has a stream in a culvert running below it. This couldn't cope with the huge volume of water which has caused the complete road surface to lift and then wash away. No shit floating around though

Sill not had anything more than a very brief, light shower here.

Same here, had a couple of drops here and there, wouldn't even call it a shower. The garden is gasping for some rain.

I was monitoring the showers coming up from the south west, passed us by every single time, and it was hot at the time so was keen for them to hit.

Thunder! Lightning! It feels so much better :D
I don't know if it's because of the change in air pressure or something else but I feel the most human I have for days :)
If I was organized I'd have some wash & wax mixed in a squirty container ready to spray over the car(s)
