LinkedIn is so bad for that, I get so many recruiters contacting me about roles that are a few levels below my role. Look at my profile before contacting me! I feel like it's just a numbers game for them though, there's a handful out there who actually try and place you in the right role.

I had a call from a recruiter on Friday, he said he'd found my cv online and had a job for me. It sounded a bit outdated for me so I asked what job he thought i was at. It was a company that I'd left (and had gone under) in 2011.

It’s not worth anything just now but in 4 or 5 years when our owners decide to move us on or go ipo, it could be worth around £40k. Could also be worth fuck all of course
I've known several people who have been given stakes in companies/startups after a funding round and none of them have benefitted financially. Definitely not worth gambling five years of discontent on the hopes of something which could be sweet fa.

Cheers for the opinions lads, I sent a couple of CVs out last night but also had a good reminder of why working from home really works for me yesterday, so I'm still kind of on the fence

You're in a good position because you don't immediately need a job, it means you have time to hold out until a really good offer lands with you.

Yup, definitely means you can decide if you're jumping from the frying pan into the fire, or out of the metaphorical fireplace. Being in a hurry to find a new job often negates that.

See what's out there I guess.

Yeah, definitely. I got quite lucky when I started at the place I'm at, I'd quit my job in Edinburgh when I moved here and I had a little money to live on but not a lot. Managed to find this within 6 weeks of leaving my old place and it's been pretty good to me all things considered. I think I'm just wondering about the grass on the other side of the fence because of all the changes over the last 18 months.
