I sat at his table at an event held around the Donington Historic Festival in 2014 (or was it 2015?). We talked Alfa Romeos for the best part of the evening. A true gentleman and a lovely bloke. Also at the same table was Mark Knopfler.
I race an old Alfa Romeo and dabble in playing the guitar, so this was not an average night for me.
Cherry on the cake was John Surtees telling stories for about an hour.
