A couple of q's about the 730 because I'm not familiar with the spec; the "Charging" display, is it a MEV or is just the alternator on the overrun, and would it have had a freewheeling/coasting gearbox at that age? Either way, 64mpg is an excellent result. It would have been nice to see the result of a cruise-control-at-the-speed-limit return to compare.
Sorry, missed this. It’s not even a mild hybrid; the charging is the disconnecting alternator being reconnected to top up the battery. I’m sure it would have coasting.

Good point about cruise control; I might do a copycat trip to work at 62mph using the speed limiter in my car to see if I can get to 60+mpg. I’ve always thought BMWs eke out just a bit more economy, and 4wd is always going to hinder me. Current tank average is 49.5ish mpg after driving solely in E mode; done 361 miles with remaining range of 420 showing.

Ta. 3.0 diesels seem to hit the sweet spot, an excellent mix of oomph, mpg, and smoothness. Istr dinny getting an easy 50mpg from his A5. (ov9; the thrill of driving 1000 miles on one tank).

Cayenne £ 375.45
Vantage £ 286.61
Cooper S	£ 213.54
Clubman £ 208.53
996 £ 179.92
Compact £ 119.95
Scimitar	£ 65.97
TOTAL £1,884.66

Vito & Cayenne by far the most expensive and more-or-less do the same job so it feels difficult to justify both now. Interesting to note the wife's MINI is barely more expensive than mine despite being faster (Cooper S vs. boggo diesel) and a convertible.
The surprising prices there are that the Vantage and 996 are so cheap considering their performance. I guess they are both on classic limited mileage policies though and the Cayenne, Vito and Mini's all on regular daily sort of deals?

Aye, and surprised at the cost of the Vito compared to the Cayenne (and the MINIs).

Snap! This is how it starts ;)

I also fitted 10mm 3m red reflective tape to really make the rear led strip pop.

As long as they match the oem taillights at night, I like :)

The AM and 911 are probably so cheap as they are only being dry stored 😉😁

We’re planning to change my wife’s Yeti for something like a BMW X3. I have been keeping an eye on prices and they seem not cheap, but not mad considering it should hold its value. What’s odd is that it’s barely any more money for a similar age/mileage 30d rather than 20d. That’s a no-brainer then 😃

I've no idea what to swap the Yeti for if/when we change it.... There's just nothing that does what it does for the money.

What exactly does it do that others don't, out of interest?

Small engine (wife is a new driver so insurance affortable), auto, petrol (most of the stuff out there is diesel, or if petrol then 2,0l engines), space for the whole family, reliable, relatively small footprint for the size (it's a Mk1 Tiguan don't forget), reliable etc.

Alternatives?

With that description it sounds like any compact crossover would be a good alternative
How about not having a sig at all?

Much smaller than a Yeti though. That's basically a supermini on stilts.

The Yeti is great for the money, but ours is worth about £3-4k more than we paid for it 2 years ago so 'for the money' is a bit of an odd concept currently. Nothing looks good value!

Berlingo Multispace, not making comments on reliability as we haven't had our Berlingo long enough to comment either way.

Still feel the same way. No idea what I'd replace it with that did the job any better. And now we've just invested in a tow bar for ours it'll be sticking around a while longer yet.

He'd say an X3 confirms it.

My wife wants an SUV, I think the X3 represents better value than a Q5, GLC or Macan. She’s got to try them but I expect feedback to be based mostly on colour 😂

Not sure what I've got to do with this, but since you asked, I've always quite liked the Yeti for some reason. I don't really get the whole small suv thing though so X3/Tiguan/etc/whatever I don't care! - the exception for me being the macan, which I think is a great looking car!

Yup 8-) I like the look of the Puma also (and think the DBX suffers in comparison).
