Insurance sorted, still not below £500/pa but I have changed parking situation and added breakdown cover so ho hum.

"Is there anything else I can do for you today?"
"Yeah....Alex88 still works for you, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Go flick him round the ear or something and tell him Beany sent ya"
"....how do you spell that?"
"B. E. A. N. Y"

"OK, sure. Anything else?"
"Nah, that'll be all, thanks!"

I am a fucking child.

Mostly true for me.

Branson beans multipacks often don’t have pull-rings. Although single tins do. Which is weird.

Also tinned plum tomatoes invariably don’t either. :|

Are they branded Virgin Beans? ;)

I think our tinned plm tomatoes are ring pull - either Napolina or Waitrose though darling.

You need to eat more Fray Bentos pies!

Looks excellent, that, SJ. My wife came with an electric tin opener which I actively shun (and unplug whenever I remember in the hope that the family will stop using it). Wonder how this new design would fare on a tin of corned beef?

No, I can confirm they're shit now, just like everything else that used to be good

Utterly shit.

(They likely always were, but it doesn't feel like it)

They always were. Just to be clear. You've just got older and become more aware.

Like sausage and beans in a tin - god I loved those as a kid. Tried them about 10yrs ago on a nostalgia trip and it still gives me nightmarea.

Growing up is the problem here, obviously.

Logan's Run should be real, so we never get old enough to suffer nostalgia.

He says, waiting on an SD card so he can make his raspberry pi work and play SNES games....

Loved them. Even though the consistency of the sossies was pretty close to pate!

Branston Beans and Sausages are still OK for a quick dinner, the sausage is better than all the rest.

They still don't have a ring pull though, which was my point

Am I the only person who seems to not be able to remove a fucking ring pull can lid without the goopy bits on the lid pinging off when you eventually free it?

Sometimes you just have to whip it off quick. Other times you have to peel it back sloooooow, and maybe jiggle it from side to side just before you finish

Predictable, but I like it.

Yeah I peel almost to the end, then gently rock up and down until….. oooh. To the tune of “Je T’aime” by Birkin and Gainsbourg.

I don’t mind beans with sausages, but then a lot of my tastes are still very child like. It’s great when the Mrs is out and I’m left to cook for me and the boy. We love a plate of cheap dirty American style hotdogs from a jar in basic white rolls with a heap of ketchup, mustard and bbq sauce

But yeah, cars.

The mini tip fell off somewhere on the way to work the other day. Surprised i didn’t hear it clank along behind me as it a pretty big heavy lump. Tried to look for it on the way home, but due to the unique shape ended up just staring at discarded drink cans by the side of the road

It was a secondhand eBay one anyway which I wasn’t happy with because it had a dent in the end not shown in the pics so I already had a brand new genuine one on the shed to fit

It’s actually a bit longer / fatter so fits a bit better. Maybe the other was a normal mini one one after all :?
