I picked up FM7 and Project Cars for less than £20, (and Just Cause 3 for £3!) it was a good way to use up some old vouchers I had in the wallet.
Assetto Corsa stock is here....

Posting here as well as showcase thread. Doubt it’ll be Xbox one compatible though

Re: Best driving games(Xbox one/PC)
I thought it was going to be Series X / S only now for Motorsport title. Horizon 5 was meant to be the last multi gen title. Mainly as it needs the extra hardware to perform etc. I guess you have to cut over to current gen only at some point.

It's not going to be on Xbox one, it's been confirmed somewhere else already that it's Series X/S and PC only.
Edit: confirmed by Microsoft on this page under additional information.

You’d assume they meant current Xbox consoles otherwise we’d be expecting original and 360 versions too

Just added a NLR sim rig at home - now just got to track down a PS5 and I can start joining in the fun

Really hoping it will be on pc game pass.
Although I’m sure it will annoy me when they remove some of the tracks / cars I loved on the old games to make way for new things.

After binging on Assetto Corsa for Nurburgring with lots of mods I had to return my mates wheel and pedal setup so back to Forza Horizon.
Nodded AC did look spectacular though, the rain mod is flipping amazing.

Re: Best driving games(Xbox one/PC)
Bought a sim rig that arrived today. I didn’t go crazy as I don’t have the space but I bout a Playseat Challenge and I’m seriously impressed. Very heavy and robust despite being able to be folded away (with steering wheel and pedals attached). My driving position is now perfect, only £180 too.
Re: Best driving games(Xbox one/PC)
I have to admit, I'm finding my rig is making the world of difference to playing the games over anything else I've tried. Robust is good!
Re: Best driving games(Xbox one/PC)
Got back on AMS 2 for the first time in 18 months. Read that it had a big physics update, tyre model update, and they've struck a deal with Renault so there's the V10 era F1 car, the V8 and well as a lot of other content. Started with the V10 which has TC to get my eye back in as I've not used a wheel or VR in 18 months. Wow the force feedback feels great now, and it looks and sounds incredible. I reckon it has the best sounds of any game, the offboard is just like standing outside the real deal.
I then tried out the V8 which I preferred to drive and did a 24 lap race round Spa, in variable conditions. The details are incredible. The car with a full tank actually feels heavy. Following cars in front you actually feel the dirty air, it slows you down significantly. Their exhausts glow harder at the end of straights. In the clear air I notice I'm going into 7th gear later and later at the top of Eau Rouge, because of the increasing headwind. It starts raining but half the track is merely moist whereas from Pouhon to the bus stop chicane its fully wet. There are vortices coming off the wings of the car. It is visually stunning. I snatch a brake and get a flat spot, causing a terrible vibration, and it keeps locking up in the same spot!
To finish off I wanted to do a few laps of the Nürburgring. I chose the Corvette GTP, put the date to today and 7:45PM for a nice sunset drive and noticed there is now a tourist layout. (One cool feature about AMS is that it simulates the actual position of the sun, and seasons and temperature based on the date you chose). It's like real life with the starting area, getting through the barriers and cones. Timing is bridge to gantry. A fantastic addition.
Sadly I don't have time to get on this much, mainly because I don't really have space for a wheel on my desk. But it is a gem and the career mode should be coming out later this year. You must give it a go if you're into sims.
