I kinda take Journo's opinions with a pinch of salt as most of their assessments are made on empty back roads and race tracks.

As a daily I'd be more tempted with a GTS to be honest.

If doing occasional track work and this is to be a second car, the GT3.

Buying and owning a brand new GT3 is proper bucket list stuff for a petrol head, and the Touring is even cooler IMO.

So unless Ian ticked that box previously, once he's done the above, he'll be in a position to decide what to do next. Maybe he'd have some fun with it and then change to the boring one for a practical reason, maybe he'll never want to be without a GT3 again, but right now, there's only one option that allows him to find out.

This, I don't take my cars on track (well I will do a drive limits day in the TVR as a learning experience but it won't go on a trackday) so I'd be more interested in what it's like on the public roads in the UK, if the GTS is easier to live with I'd have that.
