Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
Re: Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
Hmm - I guess they’d have to go back and edit films like The Whole Nine Yards and The Green Mile too… forget it.

Royale with cheese.
Re: Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
Russel Crow would have to change the name of his band to "9.144 Odd Meters of Grunts"
Re: Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
I'd happily go fully metric for everything other than pints (eg. the Irish system).
I think by a few generations time in the UK it will probably just be miles and pints anyway. The rest will probably be metric.
As for muricans, stopped trying to make sense of them years ago.

Mik, how can you have difficulty with yards? They’re basically a metre if you consider the error margin for humans estimating distance.
Re: Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
Oh I know they are almost a metre - it just feels painfully wrong when the Nav uses them. Like I am being told a price in shillings or some shizzle
Re: Why hasn't 'Mercuh gone metric?
Shillings are still current, though you probably don’t even get a penny chew for 5p now.
