In-Car Bluetooth Speaker

Post by tim »

So I want to fit a bluetooth speaker into the Jag, so I we can stream from my phone without bastardising the OE stereo. They seem to range from £30 in Tesco to £200+ in John Lewis.

Anyone have any experience of these and what sounds good without being too expensive? Bonus if it can be 12v powered.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Is yours an X350? Not sure of yours if it's compatible but Jag units are upgradble with Jagdroid so you can use android auto.

Yeah, there are similar things available for BMWs (where you unplug the CD changer, and the BT device 'behaves' like a CD changer in terms of keeping dash controls, etc - it just feeds audio from a BT feed, not the CD player - obviously has it's limits in terms of folder navigation etc).

That's probably the most sensible option long term, but my brothers lazy arsed solution in the Citroen was to just hang a bluetooth speaker from the mirror and not overthink it

Yeah, Grom units for Volvos. I would be astonished if there is not something similar for Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags.

No aux in on these, only cd changer input.

An FM transmitter might be the cheapest and easiest way.

The easiest way was mounting a bluetooth speaker to the rear parcel shelf, as per my original post
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
