So I was watching “Police, Camera, Action LIVE” on my way home, and this dozey prick in a Tesla just wouldn’t get out of the way, and - after a minute or so - thought “Hmm, I recognise that registration”

The idea that a driver is "ready to take back control [from an autonomously driven vehicle]" has been proven to be a fallacy...
...with drivers not distracted, the median takeover time was 4.56 seconds. The range of responses, however, was from 1.97 seconds to 25.75 seconds. So that means that for the subject with the slowest tested takeover time, the car going 70 mph would have traveled just over a half mile before the human regained control. At the median time of 4.56 seconds, the car would have traveled 468 feet, or a little more than one and a half football fields.

They certainly had a pea brain. :) Now I think about it the suggestion is quite insulting to Swedes anyway...

Nope, they were watching tv 😂

Guess that study doesn’t take into account the amount of people filmed using autopilot whilst asleep- ie. Takeover time was about 150miles
