Unfortunately some stuff - aka “real life” - has scuppered the trip planned for today. Even an attempt to donate the pre-paid Chunnel crossing booked for today to a third party & give them funding for their trip fell through because, basically, people are useless and if you want it done right you need to do it yourself.

There WILL be another trip, most likely just me & Gav this time, as soon as possible.

Yeah, that too ! Hence trying to help facilitate someone else to do a trip today and use our Chunnel booking. We have been able to defer the booking, it incurred an extra cost, but it’s better than chucking the whole thing down the pan.

Could you have squeezed enough in the Note?

We’ve got other vehicles, obviously, but the Vito provides by far the best VFM in terms of fuel cost & carrying capacity. For example we could take the Cayenne, but it will use twice as much fuel and carry half as many people making it about 4x more expensive per person. People have been very generous with donations, I think we have an obligation to make best possible use of that money.
