Well done @beany - sounds like you are flying with this one and even if it doesn't work out there will definitely be future opportunities.

Went with the other guy, but my name's on the list for anything else that comes up.

Yeah, no specific feedback it seems, the tech guys chewed it over and they figured they can spare the resources to train the less experienced candidate up, which is fair enough from thier perspective.

Interesting job was on the usual websites the other day.

Had a look today, job withdrawn. Bugger.

Had a look at the company website. Job still up. Still has a contact email....

Quick cover letter with my usual patter, slap the CV in there, best expectation is that my CV might get looked at next time they hire.

Got an interview for tomorrow.

My CV certainly seems to get the attention of people....

That was quite fun, ran ten minutes over, I'll know if I'm going forward next week.

Apparently I quite enjoy interviewing.

The Beany approach to interviewing:

The worst they can do is say no, so talk a load of bobbins around the chosen subject demonstrating knowledge, and if they like the cut of your jib and think you know enough, they'll hire you.

If not, then ho hum.

Quite an interesting one this one, though - open source library management, a very different industry to Avarice, Thy Name Is Telecoms.

The candidate pool must have been poor, I've been made an offer I can't refuse.

Is it what you want?
is it at the money that will make a difference?
Is it free of odd CEO/MD/bosses ?
