Re: Your fleet running reports
I don’t know what suspension yours is on, mine came on the supposed to be better koni fsd dampers, but it’s still a pretty bumpy ride. So much so that fitting coilovers barely made any difference on all but the roughest roads where their limited travel starts to show. Definitely doesn’t and didn’t crash and bang though

Cheers, Harry
Re: Your fleet running reports
Yeah it's worth checking the front springs and all the bits around it if it's that bad. My car has a habit of going through them every 15,000 miles but I drive over a million speed bumps every week in London...
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your fleet running reports
My Panda has the 85bhp version of the Twinair and it has the worst turbo lag of any car I've driven, still fun to work through the gears though.Carlos wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:39 pm
I'm also on the fence as regards the Twinair powerplant. Its nippy enough and picks up speed quicker than the 105bhp would suggest but it's like a diesel in nature with a narrow power band !

Re: Your fleet running reports
At around 50k I imagine the front drop links and topmounts (which are only plastic) are starting to get a bit tired which won’t help. I replaced the front springs on mine while my mum still had it as one had snapped. Probably somewhere between 20-25k on it at the time.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Yep, its pulls really well between 4000 and 5800 rpm then hits the limiter. I'm glad its not just ours then, I was a little worried something was amissJohn wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 11:55 pmMy Panda has the 85bhp version of the Twinair and it has the worst turbo lag of any car I've driven, still fun to work through the gears though.Carlos wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:39 pm

Re: Your fleet running reports
I've had a look and that's the likely difference. The Twinair Junior has the bigger 17" wheels but no Koni FSD or Active Dampers, they were only for the 1.4tb, 1.6 Jtdm and the Cloverleaf. The 4 new Linglongs that the previous owner put on probably don't help either !integrale_evo wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 11:36 pm I don’t know what suspension yours is on, mine came on the supposed to be better koni fsd dampers, but it’s still a pretty bumpy ride. Re: Your fleet running reports
It seems the van is now trying to fight me.
The bonnet release handle has snapped. I’m using some mole grips for now.
The outside handle on the n/s sliding door wasn’t working, I removed the door card to fix it and most of the clips broke so I can’t put it back together until I have replacements. The weather turning colder makes this worse.
The injector seals are still holding but diesel is p***ing out from somewhere when it’s under load. Not when it’s idling and I can look at it, only when driving, and it goes everywhere.

Mrs A took the 3 series to get 4 new tyres last week - i booked the appointment. Useless cvnts didnt balance the wheels.
emailed them this on monday...As yet no reply.
Hello
I write to you unfortunately with a complaint where by Kwik-fit (McDonald Road Branch in Edinburgh) have failed to meet my customer expectations and your own advertised levels of quality control checks by your
I have attached my invoice of work undertaken on my car.
In booking the work I selected a time slot of 13:00 for the tyres to be fitted. Despite arriving at 12:50 the centre did not commence the work until 13:30. This was an inconvenience for my wife who had taken the car for the work to be undertaken.
This would have been forgivable as a minor inconvenience however.
My main complaint with the standard service received seems to be a training and quality control issue.
After driving the car later in the afternoon it was immediately obvious to me that there was a problem with the tyres. The car since visiting you had developed a very noticeable vibration. On further inspection it became immediately obvious that none of the wheels had been balanced on the car. The old corroded weights from the previous set of tyres were still attached to all 4 wheels. No new weights had been fitted.
After noticing this I contacted the centre and raising my concerns i was asked to return the car for remediation.
This involved me taking the car back to the branch for it opening on Saturday morning. This was a reasonable inconvenience to me as the McDonald road branch is in the centre of Edinburgh and meant i had to change plans i had made for the Saturday morning. I had initially attempted to take the car to the more local Dalkeith branch but they were fully booked.
On arriving on the Saturday morning at the branch I spoke to the centre manager who apologised for the inconvenience. The work was then remediated.
I write to you - as advised by the centre manager - to raise this as a formal complaint and seek compensation for the inconvenience. I feel also as a regular customer of Kwik-Fit I have lost a reasonable element of faith in the quality control procedures of Kwik-Fit as a whole.
I find it astounding that a company that has such a significantly large percentage of their business invested in tyre replacement supply and fitting can simply forget to perform a key part of the service - then also fail to spot this through quality control procedures.
I look forward to receiving a reply on this matter and an explanation as to how key steps were missed in the quality of work.
Best Regards,
Scott

Re: Your fleet running reports
How on earth can they forget it? Tyres go straight from the fitting machine to the balancer whenever I’ve watched them being done
I’d be more concerned it was done on purpose to save time as they were already behind schedule and hoping the lady customer wouldn’t notice, or they could even use it as a chance to drum up more work…

Re: Your fleet running reports
Audi Adblue warning came on this morning on my way to work. I wanted to know how many miles I'd get between top-ups and, annoyingly, didn't post the mileage when it last came on. I've found my post from 15 November though so it must have been at around 24,600 miles. Today's light came on at around 34,200 miles. That gives you a 1500 mile warning before it runs out, though since it's a really annoying pop-up and chime every time you start the car, and it stays on the dash display unless you switch to a different screen, it harasses you into topping up straight away.
Also can't remember how much it took last time; I didn't empty the whole 20l canister into it. I think the tank capacity is about 17l, so I imagine there must be about 5l left in the old canister.
I'm sure this will be most uninteresting but I'm putting as much info as I can here so when I next get the top up warning, I can find this again and it's actually useful

I think there is a large element of this. Also not thinking she has a husband that knows what end of a spanner to hold. Ive poked them on twitter so lets see where this goes.integrale_evo wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 10:40 am How on earth can they forget it? Re: Your fleet running reports
Do you have a go-pro? If you do attach it under bonnet and point it in the general area (something number27 on tube did with his Ferrari) of the suspected leak and go for a drive. It's could be a seal in line from injector 1 or 2 as now you've sealed up one leak it's moved 1 step down the line to the next weakest link (thinking this is what kept happening to Hoovies Bentley with the mineral oil system).Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:53 am It seems the van is now trying to fight me.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Jag is due back tomorrow. It went in to the garage on 9th Jan, to weld both sills and the engineback near the uprights (bit of fabrication required for that), fix an O2 sensor and change the diff oil.
I'm guessing £1200.
Can we have a group LOL please?

Good luck with £1200.... Reminds me of my W124 going away for about 3 months, at least they had the excuse of a lockdown and members of staff leaving so they could care for their kids at hometim wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 8:58 pm Jag is due back tomorrow. Can we take a moment to mention the incredible satisfaction from giving your windscreen a really, really good clean and replacing perished, noisy wipers with brand new ones? It's something you put off for ages for no discernible reason.... then wonder why you waited so long.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Also, purchased 20mm spacers for the 4C a few months back....the car is far too low for any of my jacks, and with the points being a good 8 inches inboard, it'll catch on the jack arm even if I can get it under. I need to jack the car up to allow me to jack the car up. Jackception.
