Bit late for advice (and it might not be relevant anyway) but I proactively sent my insurer 5 adverts for similar cars for sale when my e46 got written off. They just agreed with my value and paid up. I ended only losing £300 over the 5 years of ownership.

Gutted to hear this, but glad everyone is OK.

Sorry to hear that, but like everyone says, at least nobody was hurt. It was a lovely 911 too, what a shame.
