I'm not sure our little enclave of Greater Manchester has any notable residents. Plenty of famous people that grew up here though such as Ian Brown and John Squire of The Stone Roses.

Our most famous and permanent residence is Frank:

Robbie Williams had a place 5 mins from here, it was called Angels Rest, he's moved on now.
Johnny Depp was in Hartley Wintney for a while and used to visit the pub there, again moved on.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were also pretty close by and Brad used to visit the Sainsburys where my wife worked, moved on for obvious reasons.
Wayne Dobson the magician used to live in the village a long time ago not sure if he's still around, not so famous anymore as he has MS and doesn't make appearances on TV now.
Edd China used to visit the Sainsburys too, he used to stop and chat with the staff and my wife said he was a decent bloke, his mate Paul (yellow van Paul) lives in the village, he is friends with a guy I know and I often see them out walking their dogs on the common.

Jo Whiley lives nearby - I've only seen her in Milton Keynes Centre Shopping Centre. As does Darren Gough I believe but I've never seen him.

I used to live about 100 yards away from Superstar DJ Dave Pearce and would seem him all the time - Never without the Trademark Baseball cap. And Kevin Whately also lived nearby

So no-one particularly noteworthy

Well I hope the immaculate Miura that was parked in town is local... oh, you mean people? Don't know, don't care... ;) I think I have borderline prosopagnosia as even if I am right next to them I rarely spot celebs.

I’ve seen Dom Joly in town a couple of times.

Kate Moss is out in the sticks. A mate of mine was out in his classic car (can’t remember what it was) and her and Pete Doherty pulled into the carpark in the same car so they got chatting. Another friend has seen her at a couple of parties.

I often see the husband of Katie Bulmer-Cooke from The Apprentice around 6 or 7 years ago. He runs a plumbing business.

I often drink in the pub run by Barry from The Futureheads (Hounds of Love, circa 2004), but I've never seen him in there.

There's often rumours Claire from Steps has attended various mother and baby classes. She lives in South Tyneside.

And there ends celebrity spotting in Sunderland.

I'd forgotten Dom Joly.

Also Kryten lives nearby (Temple Guiting); I've cycled past his house a couple of times.

Seems an awfully smart way of saying “I’m stupid” ;)

Is there a fancy pants name for the inverse of this - having a face that other people suffer prosopagnosia with.

That's me - I can literally walk right up to people who know me - they see my face but don't recognise me immediately and then when I say hello, they go "Oh sorry, I didn't see you there" - erm, you looked me right in the eye a second ago...

I reckon I'd have made a good spy - I'm borderline invisible

Where I am in Barnt Green is literally full of celebs, ex footballers and entrepreneurs such as what's left of UB40 and even non football fans have heard of Big Ron. Not suite fame, but the route I cycle is famous for the "road rage" incident that turned out to be the guys girlfriend and inspired the 90s brit pop song.

Tracie Andrews - I had no idea the Catatonia song was about that.

Hope she doesn't live locally now!

See Mary Beard and former Archbishop Rowan Williams around town every once in a while. Used to see Stephen Hawking tooling around in his electric wheelchair every once in a while too.

Jeffrey and Mary Archer live in the next village over. Mary was chair of the hospital board of governors until about ten years ago; her husband once umpired the annual consultants v students cricket match while my mate Dave shouted "you're a perjurer!" at him from the boundary while pissed.

It just occurred to me that this confusion is probably down to the fact that you @duncs500 are a city boy, whereas @Mito Man is a country member. 🤔
