Hyundai i30 N (facelift) manuel review

Post by DaveE »

Met up with an ex-colleague at the weekend who got one of these earlier this year

it's in white, so doesn't look quite as silly as the blue version (IMO of course)

It's a very good looking car IMO - sites very nicely on the 19s, no big wings etc

The rear lights are a bit busy, but I'm nit-picking

Anyway, said friend has a far heavier right foot than I do, and I was blown away by the grip and cornering speed these things can produce - I think they're in the region of 300bhp?

That mechanical diff + decent/big tyres generated huge grip and composure - nice that you can configure everything in "max" mode except the dampers etc

The exhaust is very fruity and just the right side of silly IMO - pops and bangs, but not too stupid

I had a go too and it was really nice to be back in a manuel, FWD hot hatch again - a dying (if not pretty much already dead) breed

Anyway, a cracking car/experience IMO - great fun, I can see it being a fun thing to own

Someone at work has one in blue, I like very much. Lot of money though.
