Junior ISAs

Post by Gavin »

Anyone got these set up? My parents are wanting to pop some cash across to all the grandkids and apparently the fees from their place (St James' Place) are too high for "only" the £10k they are thinking of.

Reading up just now and there are fees and charges and helpfully the place STJP recommended is M-F 9-5!

I can see my daughter would have to have her CTF put into it which is not a problem as it has been utter drivel in the 13 years she has had it.

Anyone got these anywhere and can give me any actual figures on costs per year v returns?

Don't forget that with a JISA the money is theirs so spend when they turn 18 so raise them well... 😉

We went with Bath Building society for ours last year. Offers the best interest at 2.65% on a cash JISA. They're small, so getting set up is a little more complicated, but not a hindrance.

Another vote for Vanguard. My suggestion would be just to get yourself a normal isa and plug into that. I don't know what the advantages are of ghe Junior ones

Oh and I'd also recommend banging it into a stocks and shares one and putting it all on the S&P500. My rate of return has been ridiculous

Just set my three up with Vanguard too. Been dithering for almost a year, but this thread spurred me on.
