Ukraine
Re: Ukraine
The expired MREs are likely perfectly safe and probably pretty tasty.
But knowing that your government can't be fucked to pay the $3 per person to get you fresh MREs before sending you into a combat zone (assuming they even told you it was a live fire combat zone...) would be a massive morale killer.
An army marches on its stomach, and all that.

Also the life of a Russian soldier is something like $100 and rapidly dropping as their currency goes South whilst Ukraine are paying them over $40,000 to surrender.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Ukraine
They could literally buy off the vast majority of the invading force for four billion dollars.
Given the economic aid they've got recently, that's feasible.
Which is genuinely amusing in a dark way.

A tip off from inside the Russian FSB helped to foil an assassination plot against Zelensky
Now can we send someone into the Kremlin to do Puton over?

Hmm that sounds far fetched, that’s basically means there’s someone in the KGB (well, near enough) that isn’t a total cunt.

Re: Ukraine
Also I've heard that the Russian IFF (friend or foe) systems broke on day one, and was identifying Ukrainian vehicles as friendly. Given they use the same kit, this has led to a bunch of friendly on friendly, and failure to engages. The Ukranians ripped out their IFF kit months ago assuming it was likely compromised by the Russians.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
Re: Ukraine
It's good either way.
If it's true, it means the stories in the FSB is on the loose politically.
If it's false, it feeds into Putin's paranoia making him less likely to try something fucking stupid in case it leads to a full blown Et Tu, Brutus moment
So even if it's bollocks, it's very clever bollocks.

A class of primary school children arrested in Moscow for laying flowers outside the Ukrainian Embassy. Apart from every expletive under the sun, I cannot put words to that.

Re: Ukraine
The IPC did a very rapid u-turn after announcing Russian athletes would be allowed to compare, just under a neutral flag. An ostensibly logical compromise, the games would have descended to a farce as other countries boycott various events.

Vehicles getting stuck because the tyres are dry rotted is a bit embarrassing for them.
