Today’s want
Re: Today’s want
That one would look much better with the wheels returned to oem silver. (Or replaced by the lovely Landmark alloys)

Re: Today’s want
Even I thought ooh for a moment. Until I saw the price !
Re: Today’s want
Yeah saw that earlier and I love the engine but a white Disco4 is about as undesirable as it gets to me.
Theres was some cool stuff on there when I was mooching around this morning though.

Can't decide if this is a cool oddball or the waste of a good car

Re: Today’s want
Yeah, the black wheels/windows look awful.
Re: Today’s want
it looks like exactly what it is - a saloon with an estate back crudely attached.ZedLeg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:20 pm

You can hardly tell that it’s a conversion. So long as you spoon your eyeballs out first of course.
Re: Today’s want
To be fair, even the king of estates - Volvo couldn't manage a back door that fitted the estate conversion back in the day on their 200 series.
Re: Today’s want
Aye, a vinyl roof is always a good tell for a conversion that's a bit of a bodge.mik wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:43 pmThe latter.ZedLeg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:20 pm saw

No interior shots, so not sure if that is 6sp or 8sp box?
Re: Today’s want
If you can get 15mpg out of the V8 D4 I’ll be mightily impressed.
The D4 party truck of going down the road at 80 feeling like a Destroyer in the Pacific will drain its tank like a mofo.

This. Lines, trim, everything looks wrong. And what's going on with the rear wheels? The camber looks iffy to say the least.Rich B wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:24 pmit looks like exactly what it is - a saloon with an estate back crudely attached.ZedLeg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 4:20 pm

My XF is a 2012 and is the 8 speed ZF box, I know the XK 5.0 had the 6 speed for quite a while.

I had it in my head there were concerns about the robustness of the ZF8 when launched vs the old ZF6, but I'm fairly sure it was put in the 535i models around that time so maybe there weren't.

Re: Today’s want
My 530d had the 8sp, but the 740d was only ever given the 6sp. You’d normally expect the posher car to get the latest new tech first so it’s totally possible there were concerns it might not hold up with more power & weight to cope with.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 8:47 pm I had it in my head there were concerns about the robustness of the ZF8 when launched vs the old ZF6, but I'm fairly sure it was put in the 535i models around that time so maybe there weren't.
FWIW I never noticed the difference in driving them.

The way this forum truncates the visible link makes that read 'peedster'.

You’ve got to really want the v8 for that premium!
