I have. So I’ll pass that learning in to you. The Black Death plague killed somewhere between 75 and 200 million people in Europe and Northern Africa, across a 7 year period. Lack of records from the time mean it’s difficult to pinpoint an exact number. These numbers represent between 30-60% of the population at the time, and took around 200 years to recover the levels of population lostBroccers wrote: Mon Dec 13, 2021 11:56 pmHmm but the plague did and the whole world didnt diejamcg wrote: Mon Dec 13, 2021 11:53 pmHmmmm, could it be because Covid-19 didn’t exist so a jab wasn’t needed until now?Broccers wrote: Mon Dec 13, 2021 11:37 pm
You tell me. How is it possible in such a short period of time every human, no matter their health status, needs an injection every 3 months? Ask yourself how, before today, we survived so long.![]()
Honestly. Do some learning.
I was on about the plague in Eyam, a small village in the north of England. Look it up. Bloody Southerners.jamcg wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:15 amI have. So I’ll pass that learning in to you. What that means is that if you transferred that percentage to modern population of the Uk and took the higher number as a worst case scenario it would mean the deaths of 40.3million people, or based on a 7 year epidemic like the black death, an average yearly loss around 5.75million per annum.
We’re currently at 146,477 deaths so far less than anything the Black Death caused- in fact if you average 2 years worth of Black Death equivalence at 11.5million deaths were running at only 1.3%ish of those levels
Tl:dr
Don’t compare covid to Black Death because Black Death killed more than half the population and took 200 years to recover
American with your bad dialect?jamcg wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:27 am That village where they implemented rudimentary lockdown and quarantine measures and still lost between 45-75% of their population?
Also I ain’t no southerner
Prove you wrong on what? you haven't stated what you think the facts are yet.
Certainly not American.Broccers wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:32 amAmerican with your bad dialect?jamcg wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:27 am That village where they implemented rudimentary lockdown and quarantine measures and still lost between 45-75% of their population?

Google is letting you down today. Check wiki - it will tell you the people who lived had contact with those who died.
What are your facts in years to come? Absolute tool.Rich B wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:54 amProve you wrong on what? you haven't stated what you think the facts are yet.
Yes mate. Hard of thinking brainwashed kids.jamcg wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 12:57 am
If we ran as that village then I guess you think a death toll of 30-50 million is acceptable then. Because that’s what it scales up to
If you’re citing Eyam as an example of success, perhaps you think we should quarantine completely in tiny groups of ~400? Or do you mean this country should completely close its borders and remain unvaccinated, sacrificing ~40m of its population for the good of the rest of the world?
Again, state something for us to agree/disagree with.
yep, same.duncs500 wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 7:30 am TBH, I don't really think this omicron is the big deal that the we're being encouraged to believe. We're going to get various mutations, doesn't change the fact that we've got to learn to live with this virus. Sure, everyone should get their booster, it is still most likely to help in the difficult winter months.
In an attempt to try and block out the incredibly sensationalist reporting we continue to see on the subject I continue to do what I have for a long time now of checking the case and death stats against the same day a week ago, and I haven't seen any significant fluctuations since omicron came on the scene (actually surprising given the time of year). Now I know that's one simple stat, but it's just a sense check I use.
Maybe I'm wrong and we're all going to die, but fuck it, I'm getting on with living in the mean time (whilst following the rules of course as long as they continue to stay sensible, which they actually seem to be so far).

I think the exact opposite - I think Omicron is going to be a total game-changer, at least in the medium-term.duncs500 wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 7:30 am TBH, I don't really think this omicron is the big deal that the we're being encouraged to believe.
Its quite easy to find people who agree with any narrative if you look hard enough. The whole 'we, us' seems to me that you think you're in a majority. You are not.Rich B wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 7:05 amAgain, state something for us to agree/disagree with.
So far, all you've said is that we're being brainwashed, but it seems you don't have any narrative of your own opposing what we're being brainwashed to think.
what is your narrative? That's all I'm asking.Broccers wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:18 amIts quite easy to find people who agree with any narrative if you look hard enough. Most of you, when I do actually tire of pointing out your failings, will argue amongst yourselves.
Back foot. It's amazing, to me at least, that the UK peeps just bend and accept what the Media and Guv tell them. It's not that bad. It really isn't. My narrative is to question what you are being fed. Media, Guv etc. Questioning a lone voice on a forum of 25 active members really isnt the best place to open your eyes.Rich B wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:30 amwhat is your narrative? My conclusion is people like you have no gumption, are sheep and do what they are told. Your take?Rich B wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:46 amok, and what conclusion has your questioning led you to?
