My car has cost me approx. £2k today and there's nothing wrong with it! It's just the pesky paperwork of insurance, tracker monitor subs and road tax stuff. (Might have to spend a few quid at the local later to help me get over the financial body blow).

Yes, the insurance was £971 and I did 2 years tracker subs at once as it works out cheaper in the long run. Tax is cheaper to buy by the year too, so as you can tell I’m very sensible with money really!

Not sure how old Paul is but I've heard from the farmer that insurance for performance cars goes up massively once you're over 70.

It’s a Porsche specialist firm and the policy includes things like track days, and also let’s you choose your repairer in the event of any damage. FWIW everyone you deal with seems really pleasant, and if you have occasion to meet them looks like a super model!

I actually made a claim about 12 years ago. They offered me a BMW courtesy car which I rejected in case anyone I knew saw me driving an automatic. They immediately sourced me a Cooper S to use, and apologised for the rather ‘boy racer’ colour scheme. Not cheap premiums, but faultless service.

Old addition to the fleet - 2003 Citroen C5 110 HDI. One owner from new complete with beaded seat covers. It's in great condition and no issues in the MOT history, but they kept no history whatsoever and the fella said he serviced it himself

Only problem I can see so far is the clutch is biting high, but no actual slipping. Yet. I appreciate this may eventually scrap the car, but as I paid £500 I can live with this

Can't not post as it's entertaining, clutch starting to go already Been quoted £600 from a clutch centre for the clutch and the dual mass flywheel, which means the car owes me £1100. I'll go for it as I love the car, fingers crossed it's not good money after bad!

Pleasingly only the clutch needed doing, DMF was fine. The release bearing started squealing and the pedal was heading to the floor on the ten mile journey, wasn't entirely sure I was going to make it

£350 and they did it same day. I shall now be praying to the French car Gods that this is the last of it for a while. I will be fitting a new set of wiper blades tonight as a peace offering to them

What was it before? I've switched back to my narrower eco-tyres on the Up and gained +5mpg....at the cost of significant ride comfort!

I was averaging about 43-44mpg before, could eke out up to 47mpg on one journey. But last night's was a bit trafficked hence the slightly slow average speed, so not even a special economy run. Not bad for a 1950kg 4wd estate.
