The ebay thread
Re: The ebay thread
Looks like they're pretty chill - he's not had an episode since he was a teenager so I think if it's something that interests him (and he does like tinkering with cars and driving) then it sounds like it might be worth him looking into it.
(I've also sent him the link to that ZR )

Re: The ebay thread
That ZR would be an excellent first car.
Re: The ebay thread
Yeah, it looks like it'd need minimal work and those cars had a pretty decent base suspension setup in the first place so would probably make a pretty fun road car for when it's not doing competitive stuff.

Re: The ebay thread
I second the approach of buying something already modded in this way.
Hmm, interesting idea. I just watched a Team O'Neil vid where they talked about prepping their Fiesta and moving the washer bottle to avoid damage to it.Battery relocated to boot boxed.
Windscreen washer bottle relocated to boot.

Re: The ebay thread
From what I remember of my R200 the washer bottle is behind the corner of the front bumper so probably pretty vulnerable to running a bit wide and biffing a tyre or bank.
Cheers, Harry
Re: The ebay thread
A quick google suggest the battery is basically on the other side of the engine bay right behind the slam panel, so it makes sense to move that too!

"These include 'Murray of Athol Ancient tartan' driver's seat and door cards"
Funnily enough, the actual Duke of Atholl (Murray) is my mates dad.

Isn't it great when someone puts so much effort into advertising there item.
Re: The ebay thread
Collectors are fighting over it?

Jeez - highest bid at the time of typing this is £10k, and that isn’t meeting the reserve.
For an XR4i
I should probably tag @Beany
Sheesh.

Doesnt seem too crazy for a concours winning car - even if it is an xr4i! Ford nuts are nuttier than most though.mik wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 9:31 am Jeez - highest bid at the time of typing this is £10k, and that isn’t meeting the reserve.

Re: The ebay thread
£10k is probably less than the restoration cost, it says it had a full bare metal repaint. I hate to use the word "investment" in relation to cars, but if that gets stored properly I doubt it'll ever lose money. Like Rich says, Ford fanbois are quite special.
