Car shows

Post by PaulJ »

If anyone is around Broadway in the Cotswolds this weekend there's a classic car show on Saturday and on Sunday it's a 'supercar' show based around the village green. Some great pubs/restaurants there where you can indulge in grade A people watching. The full spectrum of society will be there, ranging from the aristocratic through hooray Henrys to liberal leftie champagne socialists. We're off there for a long weekend. :)

My mistake. There’s a Hurricane flying over at about 12.15 on Saturday if you’re into that kind of thing too.

As it turns out I am in Oxford this weekend. I might take a trip out on the Sunday morning - will say hi if I see a blue Cayman!

The blue Cayman will be in a nearby garage as it isn’t ‘super’ enough to qualify for Saturday, and too young for the Sunday event. Enjoy the day though.

Didn’t make it in the end. Wish I had, there was some serious stuff there! F1, Miura, Gullwing SL.

Yes, the Miura looked like it had seen plenty of action in it's life too. Lots of newer Lambos, Ferraris, McLarens, Astons and Porsches around also. On the Classic Sunday I'd happily have driven away in the 1966 GT40 of the 1973 Carrera RS.

Anyone else going along to the Motor Show Live in Farnborough? I'll be there on Saturday. Farnborough motor club will be doing autosolo demos. I thought about doing that but they wanted std cars to show people there are no barriers to entry, and my Fabia doesn't fit that criteria. Could have offered to demo in the Swift but, well, I didn't get round to it.
