evo Magazines - What have you done with yours?
Its that time where we’re starting to clear the house and loft out to get ready for selling and I’ve come across box after box of evo mags. Looks like it goes from issue #1 to some point in 2020. I’ve also found a few BMW sales brochures for things like the E90 M5 and the original M Coupe Breadvan as well as that McLaren F1 book and also a promo sales thing for prospective XJ220 owners.
Are all your mags gathering dust or proudly on display? If you’ve kept them, do you ever read them? Or does a visit to the local recycling center beckon…

Check eBay etc, some could be worth decent money, especially the brochures
Re: evo Magazines - What have you done with yours?
I sold loads of them years and years ago
Since then I give all my 'used' car magazines to either my step-Dad or nephew...

Have them all in boxes in number order. In terms of selling them, not sure whether it would be best to do it as one job lot, or individually, or in batches.

You’d definitely get more individually, if you could be bothered to take a photo, write a description and make the ad.
I keep meaning to scan all mine and sell / throw them but it’s one of those jobs I’ll probably never get round to

You'd have to be seriously dedicated to sell magazines individually. Sounds like my idea of hell - potentially dealing with 10-100s of customers*integrale_evo wrote: Sun Aug 08, 2021 5:58 pm You’d definitely get more individually, if you could be bothered to take a photo, write a description and make the ad.

I sold mine to someone of the forum of 2 generations ago. I got bonkers money for issue one.

It was my my Performance Cars mags that I gave to John Barker. Was good to meet John, he's a real nice bloke. Think he was a bit surprised that I gave them to him for free, but they're some of his life's work so it only seemed right.mik wrote: Sun Aug 08, 2021 8:51 pm I think @Marv gave his to a (very grateful) Mr John Barker. I actually bought them from Gavin (Zonda_) years and years ago.
My Evo mags, some of them ended up in recycling. Some I gave away and I've kept about 25 of my favourite issues.

Re: evo Magazines - What have you done with yours?
I have a few Performance Car magazines but not anything pre 2000 when I moved to Edinburgh and left a load behind, including the issue I was in!
I now have 15ish years of EVOs in the attic and a box of randoms including Fast Car from the 90s.
I never read them and was seriously considering dumping them once our working loft ladder is in.

Mine are still in boxes hiding in the back of a cupboard. Barely ever look at them, but also can't bare to throw them in the trash
Re: evo Magazines - What have you done with yours?
Lot of mine got donated to the school for kids to chop up into art.
I see it as trying to educate a new generation of evonistas.

Be doing great at Top Gear Mag) - issues that contained tests of cars they had purchased.
Once the set was incomplete I didn’t feel so precious about it - took the “lose them” decision during a house move.

That reminds me; i was going to dig out a CAR issue with the SZ article and copy for someone on the old EVO forum who had one. Did they move across to OV9?
I might actually get into the attic soon so could actually manage it.

I still follow him on the twitters, but he hasn’t had any activity there for 3yrs+
Edit: unless you were talking about Bryn (with both SZ and RZ)

Chucked mine years ago. For the last seven years I've given them to someone at the kids' nursery when I've finished with it.

Hmmm - his Facebook posts stop around the same time (May 2018) and his LinkedIn Profile seems to be disabled (?)
Ravi Jeyendran if anyone wants to do some further sleuthing….
