it doesn't matter if it's 1 ml or 10 litres, the point is that it's the same for everyone.
That. I have no idea what they do, but if they have 5 standard tests that require 100ml of fuel per test, plus a retest sample to confirm or discount a spurious initial result, they could probably deviate from these protocols and perform the tests with only 30ml at a time.

They may even get acceptably accurate results.

If you are another team who has ensured your car has the requisite full litre remaining at the end of the race, I am sure you will be happy with that, cos F1 fwends.

Seems they don't need much at all to test. But rules are rules and there's no excuse for not complying. Disappointing to see Harris bleating about the "rules is rules" comments from people, and also suggesting there might be other reasons why Vettel was DQd.

Reading the wording of the rules it’s still a slam dunk disqualification even if Aston Martin remove the fuel tank and fuel lines from the car to find the remaining fuel. I am surprised that they “pump out” the fuel, thought there would be a drain under the chassis but I guess that would make the fuel tank more likeable to rupture in a big crash.

Much like Red Bulls appeals to appease Helmut a bit I think this appeal is just to appease Stroll before he tortures the person who made that error

...but good to see REV's well 8-)

The suggestions didn't originate with Harris;

Great race! Love him or hate him, an absolute masterclass from Lewis coming from the back of the field once again on a track notoriously difficult to overtake on. That's why he's a 7 times champ. Gutted for Norris though. If anyone deserves a win out of the ordinary, it's him.
Cheers.

Gutted for Vettel. Maybe he's just grown up, but he's lost that arrogance he had and he just comes across as a really nice guy. I admire the stand he's taking on human rights too.

Yeah, Vettel is a lot more likeable when he's not competing at the front! :lol:

Vettel always seemed a decent person away from the track even in his earlier days. He’s been on a good person streak recently. Cleaning rubbish in Silverstone, attending a fans wedding proposal in Hungary, the Alonso birthday party popper was funny too. He must actually do it all because he enjoys it as he has no social media so usually these things get found out by fans randomly filming it.

Interesting - I find him considerably more likeable now too. When he was doing all the wavey finger pish he just came across as an arrogant fanny who rabidly expelled all toys from his pram whenever it didn’t go his way.

I think it is a domination thing, I did not like MS in his first career. When he came back he was like a different person and I changed my opinion. I supported RB from the start so although I preferred Webber, and would have loved him to get 2010, I did enjoy their spell more but the pointy finger was annoying.

Alonso also seems more likable now, so maybe it is simply that these guys want to win at all costs from the age of 6 or whatever and are utterly driven so many don't come across well until they have matured and experienced life away from racing a bit more?

I'm sure there's an element of that, he was definitely a brat inside the car when he was at the front. Also TBH at the time of the RB domination I just didn't feel that he was a good enough driver to be held in the regard of four time world champion (I still don't), but it is probably an unfair way to look at it really because that's just the luck of the draw.

Anyway, I'm glad he's showing himself in a better light, and although I've had some sympathy for him in recent years, he doesn't need it, he'll always been a four time world champ and go down as a top driver.
