We've booked in proper tests for tomorrow for the 3 of us, just in case - we've done the quick home tests and all negative.
are you supposed to be doing that without symptoms? (Not that I blame you, isolating is an absolute ball ache.)
We were told to get the Boy tested and while booking, you can add 2 others to "booking" so we thought why not

Why not? This is because its a pointless waste of a) money, b) time.

I don’t see it that way Broccers.

We’re currently living in a very small house so there is zero chance if he’s got it at school, I won’t have picked it up at home.

I don’t want to wait until I get symptoms before isolating myself as I don’t want to infect people at work, family etc.

Besides, we’re following the instructions from the school.

I'm not up on everyone's jabbed status but if you're even just on one then you should be immune.

I'm seeing more and more the damage this whole thing has done to society. You would think by now the fear should have subsided.

1. I have both Jabs
2. Vaccine doesn’t make you ‘immune’
3. I’m not getting tested out of fear

My wife has been jabbed and caught it off our son.

And she's very unwell with it, so it's not a magic bullet.

Presumably if you're getting a PCR, then everyone you've been near/with recently needs to isolate too.

I’ve noticed a lot more people not bothering with masks in supermarkets over the last week. According to the Beeb 1 in 160 has it currently and 99% of those has the delta variant.

Had the aircon regassed today and hardly anyone walking in and out of the garage and hanging around inside had a mask. There’s going to be a shitload of people being pinged soon, if they have the app.

Yeah I’ve been noticing that too.

No one questioning them either

Does anyone actually use the app? I've used it about 3 times, purely when the venue I was going to insisted. I'd be isolating every day if I put it on I expect - I work in a fairly busy town.

It’s constantly scanning for nearby devices in the background isn’t it?

I've never turned that on - seems like a step too far to me.

Mines never been turned on either, I'd imagine you'd end up spending every other week in isolation!

B&Q were the worst for maskless twats in my experience. Probably 40% of people not bothering on my last visit, including a whole family of 4 with 2 teenage girls.

I have it on most of the time, never had to isolate as a result. A few people at work got pinged for it after we had a bit of an outbreak back in January, but that was probably fair enough. I think it really does expect you to be in close proximity to someone for a good amount of time, so it's not as sensitive as you might imagine.

Mines been on constantly since I got it and I've been all over the UK working during all the lockdowns, out to eat/drink etc and not once has it pinged.
